RAD,

Pitty the filly pulled so hard in the beginning....

Just hope she pulls up sound for you. I have no doubt you will find easier pickings for her and still have a bit of fun!!

All the best.

Great days racing some lovely girls on track and off.

Just not enough winners.

Pity Appie never got further ahead with CC.

Thanks

Sly

Does anyone have the official attendance?

The way the Tellytrack crew were carrying on you'd swear there were 50,000 people on course.

If not mistaken Kobus told me less than 2,000, I think that was paying customers?
The normal places were full, elevation/furious/boxes/kalvins, but still plenty room at the Inn.

Sorry clan...Tommy...

Most disappointing run from filly...but she's on her way to PE...asked the driver to take detour past the "PIE" factory on the way there so she can have a glimpse of what to come if she doesn't sort herself out...lol

Hey RAD,

No need to apologise...I had a great day. I would have liked your filly to win, but more so for you then for me. The bet only cost me R20 :D

I hope she wins a few heats for you in PE!

Why does the MET and July work?? Its because its a fun, fashionable day out, its hip to be seen at the races and if you are not there then your friends wind you up. It gets youth to our game and makes it worth being there.

Sansui Summer Cup for me should have had:
Corporate tents sold (extra revenue)
A fashion Show or something like it. (keep the crowds entertained)
A proper afterparty in an enclosed venue.
No disrepect to Jazzy D, I thought he did a phenominal job with the team he got assembled- but include some household names, Dj's from the radio (people we know)
Losing tickets draws (betting vouchers are a brilliant marketing tool for punters)
Predict the winner of the Summer cup and stand a chance to win XXXXXX
Some sort of How to bet guide (like GC did at the July) show the novices what to do. Surely new blood would need that sort of help.
More models and glamour.
Also a change of dates would help. The last week before December (with xmas and the uncertainty of bonusses doing the rounds) does not work in the financial scheme of things.

Around JHB- more advertising material, I drove around and did not see one billboard in the areas I went!! Did the people of JHB actually know that Gautengs biggest racemeeting was taking place??? A few adverts on Tellytack (preaching to the converted) and maybe one or 2 on other channels does not do SANSUI (as the sponsor) much good.

And Most Importantly a Proper Theme that tied in with Hot Hot Hot??? In Aus on sunday in an arb raceday, they had over 10000 people, Greyville on saturday night must of had the same as Turffontein.

This is just my opinion and obviously we all differ when talking about what we want to see. But the real question is does P actually know what we want?????

I think not! The time for change is upon us and hopefully the marketing strategy of SA racing will be under the microscope!!!!!

Sansui under the JD Group banner was a late sponsor, I do think we will see a better prepared cup next year. Secondly JP Group has 8 retail business units which I'm sure phum will spin off to promote the cup next year...

A advert in these retail catalogues promoting the cup and free entry if you present the ad at the gate/or even a betting voucher (something to attract the crows).
In all they print about 15 million catalogues per month of which about 7 million are distributed in Gauteng. I guarantee you they will get 10 000 people just from this simple promotion.
