Well done to Jack Dash - SA DERBY WINNING BREEDER

Brilliant Jack,
For a small farm to breed a special horse like Irish Flame is a superb achievement. Do you still have the mare ? She must be worth a bomb now !
All the best

Thanks. It's very, very awesome.
I don't remember anything we've bred winning by 9.5L, never mind a grade 1. I'm so glad for my wife who actually does the work, it's very cool that this can happen to small players too.
I do believe that Kenny had something to do with the dam when she first started racing. She was bought and raced by my very good friend Anton von Molendorff (who died way too young, and I who I like to think would have been spinning with excitement had he lived to see it) and his father Percy who is still a partner in Irish Flame.
It was our luck to pick Dynasty first season and get a proper foal. I nudged Percy to Kannemeyer, that worked out well. And then to wind up at De Kock when the man is unstoppable. The amount of good fortune is mind-boggling.

It's only the start Jack, you'll have bred another Derby winner by 2012,although I don't think that one will win by more than 2L.
