Wimbledon 2017
7 years 11 months ago
As a lifelong fan the the GOAT himself, Roger Federer, I strangely fancy Nadal this time around. Nadal had won the French Open on two occasions before without dropping a set and both times won Wimbledon thereafter. Ton of money for him from 16's to 6's
Something tells me that it's Nadal or a first time winner.
Can't take Djokovic at the moment. Hasn't been himself himself since winning the French last year
Murray still recovering from his injury imo and will fall at semis or so
Let's see how Federer goes in Halle but something tells me that he will get upset
Stan's baseline game not ideal for Wimbledon
Raonic seemingly still carrying an injury niggle
My dark horses are Zverev and Cilic with Nadal my pick

Murray attempts to win a 6th queens title this week
Federer looking for a 9th Halle title
Both look vulnerable imo

Surely the 40/1 is too big for the big hitting Thiem... who is in a bit of form aswell.

I was very disappointed Zverev in the French Open. He was screaming after every point he won and throwing his toys out the cot after every point he lost and this was in the first round. There is no doubt he has the game and talent to win a grand slam but I would like to see him mature a bit before punting him to win a big one. Looks very difficult this year with most of the top men's players having question marks hanging over them.

I long for the days of Edberg, Bekker, Sampras and Agassi. I used to be glued to the box when they played, nowadays i dont bother to watch at all.

Wimbledon 1988-1990...Edberg dominated 1988, Becker dominated 1989 and 1990 was a classic that had Edberg up, then Becker coming back to level and then those two lobs by Edberg...great tennis...

Give me the Bjorn Borg & John Mc Enro final any time of day/night and i'll watch it again
In my life i have never seen anything getting close to it
TBH this was the match that got me hooked to tennis
I think it was 1975, tv was a luxury
I watched it from a shop window in Station Rd Parow
Wow! time sure flies
