Guineas Weekend 1st/2nd May
4 years 1 month ago
The first Classics of the UK Turf season have crept up on us.
The 2000 looks like a battle between Godolphin and the O'Briens.
Charlie Appelby has his 3 y olds well forward and has been winning left, right and centre.
Highland Lane,Master of the Seas etc etc have potential to win but the favourite is One Ruler who looks like appearing only on the day.One Ruler must be useful as Appelby must know exactly where he stands with the others.
You can be sure that it will be fit as it is probably dizzy from going up and down Newmarket gallops.Currently 5/1 fav
Will Buick will select.
Aidan is running the lightly raced St Mark's Basilica.will definitely improve .
1000 Guineas
Santa Barbara is all the rage at 6/4 fav.for A O'Brien.
Pretty Gorgeous, for JP Obrien is 2nd fav.
Can't understand why Santa Barbara is so short as it is quite exposed.

Hope this is helpful :-
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Noted that the first two names in the new UK Racing Hall of Fame are LESTER and FRANKEL.
Couldn't even begin to dispute those two.

Good for you.
I feel that this is very open.
Appleby horses have run well.Buick chose this one.
Ran last time with a hood.

Well it’s the 1000 gns today.
Santa Barbara is 2/1 and I am sure we would all agree that this price is very skinny based on the form of a maiden win in Ireland.
However Aidan has spoken and says this is a “special “ horse and he should know, having won 4 of the last 5 running’s of the race.
If we also consider Ryan Moore is aboard, let’s hope we witness something special today.
At this stage she is also the Oaks fav.

She won a maiden In Ireland!
I'm still looking down the course for any of A O'Bs horses in yesterday's race.
Agree with you about the Prive.
Just think that 1000 winner's name begins with S.
Otherwise ASHAARI R3 Newmarket.

Not sure where Tellytrack / Cecil gets their betting feed from ?
I was shocked to hear that it's not available at 13.30 ?
Makes no difference to me but surely all our leading bookies who sponsor most of the races have had full betting for over 24hrs.
If we use overseas feed they also all have betting.
Just curious if we are trying to generate turnover.
