I did not see them. Are you sure they weren't in net stockings.

Great start by the Proteas and with Amla now number 4 SA should be looking to push on from 194/1 to 475 at least by tea on the 2nd day.

Pity losing AB with the last ball of the day. Will have to grind hard tomorrow and try and get to 400.

The Proteas are experts in throwing away good positions. They will take a very long time to get back to number 1 if they continue in this vein.

SA have really surprised me although unfortunately I have not seen any of it as they are not showing it on the TV. I hope that Amla does not go the same way as Cook has with the bat since becoming captain. They need to get the last wicket and score at 3.5 an over set them around 500 and that should do it

I genuinely thought 400 was far away with Duminy a bit suspect against quick bowlers (but SL have no-one of real pace to tie him up)...Philander playing better as batsman than bowler...seems to have lost his zip when track doesn't help...
Amla is a top player and one bad inning is not a precursor of the route that lies ahead...with Cook, I think the eyes or reflexes are going plus the burden of the mental battles (against Aus, KP, etc) he has fought of late have him distracted when batting...
SA cannot bat past +- 30-45 minutes after tea tomorrow otherwise not enough time to bowl out SL in those conditions...need more than 100 overs to get the job done...
Fingers crossed...
