Must be the most optimum bowling conditions I've ever witnessed..

how long have you been watching cricket? 6 months by the sound of it

Played County cricket and now coach at Shrewsbury School, toured South Africa in 2014 with the school and won 11 from 12 played.
What's your background in cricket to make you such an expert?

Hold on Sunshine, when did I mention the pitch?
I was referring to the overcast, breezy conditions that will make the ball swing and deviate of a straight line.Which your bowlers achieved occasionally.
Let's see what happens and not count our chickens before they have hatched.

Surely that statement covers all? Durban is not Trent Bridge when it comes to overhead conditions. The overhead conditions helped first thing and then the sun burnt it off. The overcast conditions in the afternoon were just rain clouds with hardly any humidity around. But then as a county player you should know that eh

Our attack without Dale is very weak. However with 15 overs before the new ball I can see him picking up at least a fiver. 270 sounds a fair call CnC. The weather should improve and will play into our hands. We need to post 400 plus to have a winning chance. I feel the pitch is doing very little to help the bowlers, that can change as the game goes into day 4 +, what with the tide coming in and the sharks barking etc. Amla needs to produce with the bat. Makes for an exciting game.

Cant see SA getting 400 neigh as Broad is at the top of his game and Finn although match rusty will take wickets. Only chance is to attack Stokes and Woakes. This match has draw written all over it as I think that the pitch will flatten out come Monday. If the openers and Amla were on form then I would agree with your prediction neigh but the three of them are lacking confidence at the moment. Same can be said of Faf and Duminy. Proteas best chance will be at Newlands where they seem to be unbeatable.

They need time in the middle and the more time they give themselves the better they will perform. The reason why I singled out Amla is because its his home track as for the other guys anything is possible and I have to agree with you. We will however be batting under easier conditions then the Pomms did. I cant see it being a draw if we bowl them out before tea.

Imvho, I do believe tomorrow will be what day 1 was expected to be. Other than a bit of help for the bowlers early in the am, I do think batting conditions were advontageous today. Yes is was cloudy, however, the wet outfield would have affected the hardness of the ball, and the seam would have softened eliminating any movement that could have been on offer. I do believe come tomorrow, with a dry outfield, we will see favourable bowling conditions, and wickets will fall.

I will also make a call and say Van Zyl will score runs this test.

is Van Zyl a genuine opener? Where will he bat when Smith returns to the team? Taylor and Compton really battled it out well for England today and hopefully one or two of the Protea batsman do the same.

Lets wait and see what happens tomorrow. I, like you, love cricket so lets be sensible and respect each others opinions from now on. :)
