According to the official CSA website, Aiden Markram was born on the 1st of January 1970.That made him 47 years old when making his debut :huh:

On this past Wednesday he turned 23,so thankfully for SA cricket fans, we will see a lot more of this promising young player.

Appears that the Proteas have found the missing opener in Markham. Even if its "just" Bangladesh, this will give him even more confidence going forward to the India series. Mind you another opener, Jaques Rudolf scored an unbeaten 222 against the same Bangladesh at the start of his short lived international test career.

whats happened?

called off the t20 tourney that was meant to start beginning november so no domestic or international cricket for 6 weeks in sa ..they would have incurred a 25 million dollar loss plus they ran at a loss last year of 300 million rand ,,,throw in no boxing day test and the new years test to start on the 5th and they should all be getting bonuses for the marvellous way they run the game ..couldnt run a bath
