Bring in De Kock, stop playing 20-20 including IPL if he really wants to extend his international career for another 4 years. Plenty of time after that to make more money in the IPL.
De Kock will definately be in next test. Just scored a ton for Titans in 4 day match.

Good, now hopefully Philander will be ready as Newlands is where he takes his wickets

I would play 5 seamers next test. No spinners. And would tell my seemers, its up to you how tired you want to be at the end of the test LOL...

This Elgar Steyn partnership could have a huge say in the final result imo.

At one point I thought that SA would be 140 behind so not too bad at the moment, another 30 runs and they will feel much better when bowling in the 2nd innings. Steyn and Morkel can bowl them out for less than 200 .

This is my take on the current situation the Protea's are experiencing-
I believe our biggest downfall at this current time is our Captain.
Yes Amla does deserve to maintain his spot as he is a great Batsmen, unfortunately he is going through a bad run (no cricketer in the history of the game, except for maybe Bradman has not been through one), however, his captaincy is poor to say the least. He is probably the quietest guy in world cricket, firstly, how are you meant to motivate when you hardly utter a murmor. A good few years ago there were some mentions of his name for Captaincy, and he declined stating the extra responsibility would hamper his performances with the bat. Well, stats are stats, and it clearly has. Yes he is not the only player out of form, however, the boys will get through their slump.
Watching our fielding performance (ignoring the dropped catches), just the way in which our fields are placed, I really cannot fathom what he is trying to do.... Eg, when a seemer is swinging the ball into the batsmen, you take cover out, as you want him to play a drive so you can sneak 1 through..
In this instance, you are a bowler down, and want Piedt to contain one end. He bowled a brilliant line (leg stump) consistantly, yet you still have 4 players on off side? WHY? Why don't you plug up the obvious options for the batsmen when bowling that line, and force them to hit through the offside... Yes they might get a few right, but you forcing them into danger.....
I could waffle on and on, but in short, Amla is not a Captain, and not only is his personal performance's suffering, but the Protea's are suffering...

Surely Amla cannot fail again in the 2nd innings. 2 hours of AB at the crease and the Proteas will chase down any score that the Commonwealth X1 put up.

I cant help but think Elgar was protecting his averages while batting in the later stages of his knock. He put all those no-batsmen under pressure to score runs around him. Like Dale and that stupid run where he could have injured his shoulder diving. Selfish and stupid. AB is tired and his mind is not focused at the moment. As for the rest of our daffodils I cant see the light. Hope......
