Im not familiar with the Betbuilder bet but,
If Harry to score anytime is 11/1
and Man Utd to win was 2/1
If you took the bet in singles you will have made R13 profit for a R1 wager. Thats R2 total wagered.
If the Double worked outs 8/1 in the Betbuilder then for R2 you will get R16. Thats R3 more.
The reason you cannot calculate the odds like in a normal Double is due to the bets are in the same game. One result will effect the other outcome. Once Harry scored, live in play odds of Utd would have dropped.

Apologies. I have checked now and Man Utd was around 7/10 to win against Leeds.
In my view your bet is paid out correctly.

But how can having a higher risk have a worse payout?
Think of it logically....
If Harry scores at 11-1 you don't care what the final result is.
When Gregory took the bet it wasn't live so the result could have been anything at the beginning yet taking a higher risk is giving you worse odds.
Let's say 11-1 to score and 1-10 for United to win.
You still have a 10% chance that United won't win so surely you should at least 10% more than just a anytime goal scorer.
But how can having a higher risk have a worse payout?

But you need to take two bets and your wager will have to be R2, R1 per bet.
He says Harry was 11/1. I dont know what was the correct price.
What I do know was Man Utd was 7/10.
If you took them singles, your profit will be R11.7 for R2 wagered(11 + 0.7)
He says the double worked out just over 8/1. So for R2 by taking the double he got R4 more.

@ Durbs. Go check William Hill for the match and the results. The odds for Betbuilders are low from what you think.

I'm sure you right Naresh but the logic behind this is that who in their right mind would increase their risk and get a worse price.
Take 11-1 Harry to score anytime and don't take the unnecessary risk that United have to win and get a lower price doing that too.
These match builder odds seem to favour the bookies enormously if you take into account the higher price of an anytime scorer without the added risk of your team having to win too.

I will wait for Dev to hopefully reply as for me the logic is exactly what Durbz is saying based on the risk factor.
If i compare it it should be exactly as if one is taking a Double with 11/1+7/10

Fully respect your view hence why i asked the forum Naresh and whilst u justify the case for 2 bets from a risk point of view if one Harry scores and Utd draw the bet becomes a losing bet so shouldnt it be treated like a normal doublw

It cannot work out like a normal double has it is a related bet. One outcome effects the other.
Here is a link to help you and any other person. Also is a screenshot. Thanks.

Guys - Clearly stats is not everyone's strong point here and I get this. All I will say here is everyone should just read Durbs posts on this thread, that is the only accurate part here. Even the screenshot that was posted here, which shows a 5/1 odds on the anytime scorer odds doubling to at least a 10/1 rather than a suggested 35/1, goes against the actual situation here, where the odds DECREASED in this case. I am concerned that Scotia even liked a post that suggested that adding even a RELATED bet to an 11/1 odds to score selection would lower the odds of not ONE but BOTH events happening together.

Apologies. By stats what you mean? Statistics? The screenshot was an example and says maybe, depending on the bookie it can be lower or higher.
I stand by what I posted. The bet payout is correct.
The best way to see for yourself is go to any site that offer Betbuilders.
See the odds of the Team to Win.
See the odds of anytime Goalscorer.
Put those to win a Betbuilder. The odds will drop automatically. Make sure though that the Team to win plays for the Goalscorer you as chosen. Thanks.
