I cannot fathom why stable jockey Fradd is riding Whiteline Fever and not Pomodoro. The latter easily beat Whiteline in Durban and looked top class.Whiteline is also drawn 14 so on form he cannot beat his stable companion.

Yeah that's very confusing mate, I see what u mean. And what's worse is that cormack rides Pomodoro, and he is a top jockey so we don't know which is the better horse

Tarry said on the panel interview last night that he was floored when Fradd went for White Line Fever, he is obviously of the opinion that Pomodoro is the better one of the two.

Greyville and Turffontein very very different race tracks... perhaps Fradd (experienced jockey and all) feels that Whiteline will be better at the galloping track ... or at least better suited than Pomodoro ???

Does no one give Silver Flyer a chance? I see Glen Hatt has got the ride, and I assume Bonji would of had the pick of the MDK runners, so that may be the obvious pointer, yes? However, I just loved the way this horse quickened up when he won both his starts at Greyville. He came from an impossible position (stone last turning for home) when 5th to Potala Palace. His last start, IMO, he was well beat by Pomodoro, but I think he looked all at sea around the left hand turn. I am going to be with Silver Flyer to upset the apple cart!

HtH,my early fancy was indeed Silver Flyer ......I just can't get my head around Hatt getting the ride..........I might have missed one but I don't think I have seen him on a De Kock horse in my 40+ years racing?

My initial impression (haven't really looked at the race yet) is that Straw Market is the right one - had to give weight in the Graham Beck and is now racing off level weights from a good draw - as wbam says he also has beaten Potala Palace before and PP may now need more ground; for 2nd I think it will be one of de Kock's runners - Mushreq with Delpech or Merhee - would not be surprised if PP does not run in the first 3 (preparing for the egg) ::o

Good point Rob. I am battling to decide....but I have seen the "2nd choice" win plenty of times....Flirtation last yr, Bunter Barlow in the Met, Dunford etc

Maybe on the day I will make the right choice >:D<

When the name ''INVESTEC DINGAANS''is mentioned in racing,it should be our next champion 3 year old that would surface in racing.I cannot believe that this is only a grade 2, for 3 year olds,with prise money of R500 000 only.Something has to be done too attract people back,and im damned if this is the example,a possible champion 3 year old supposedly taking on the toughest 3 year olds in the country for prize money that is laughable,as Stan says ''where to from here''.

i think the biggest problem is that the Cape horses do not raid the Highveldt, and to throw money and status at potentially only 66% of the supposed BEST 3 yr olds in the land .... {shrugs}
