Although the jock did hit the horse a lot ,he didnt look to be using to much vigour, poor ride though and switching whip hand would have seen the horse in the 1 box..

I read the article and I watched the video now, I doubt it was vigorous..
I just think, if he changed hands in time, French Reef wouldve won..
Poor ride no doubt, maybe misjudged, I don't think lack of skill or vigor..

Hi I as you might have read in the Scottsville 11th thread was not happy with the rider at all for the way he hit the horse and for not changing his stick. He would have won almost hands and heels if he was ridden that way. He is a big strong horse who tries his hardest.Horse was not marked but that does not condone the fact that he was hit too often. The Stipes looked at it but decided against charging him as far as I know.Shocking ride.

Guess he won't be riding any of your horses in the near future Craig, nevertheless looks like your stable is coming to form....(tu)

Sorry Craig posted as I was typing-

Interesting, I had a little wager on this fella and do so almost everytime he runs, but Craig will confirm that he is a big horse and needs extra encouragement(strong riding and will not respond to tealeaf tactics) but not urged from the whip alone. I watched the replays twice as the TT live feed bombed during the race and agree it was a poor ride from Zechner, as was his ride in the 4th race. It is only the best of jocks that can steer and use the stick at the same time.

He went to the front easily and would have won with 2 smacks behind the saddle and keeping straight.
