Lets get real!
The horse may be another Horse Chestnut for all I know............but I also know that if the guineas was t'morrow,he would be between 15-20 kgs(ie 15-20 lengths) under sufferance with the main contenders!

Agreed rob but the guineas is months away and this horse will improve many lengths, he was slow out the gates looked dumb till the last 300meters after being shaken up! For a first timer to win over a mile so impressively regardless of the field takes some doing.

I am not trying to draw comparisons in any way what so ever but if this thread was started after Dynasty's first win at Greyville over a mile and anyone said he could win the July I too would have said they need their head read...but when all is said and done...this was super impressive and he will go on to much bigger things
Give everything but up!

,Certainly a prospect for bigger things based on that performance and has the genetic make up to be something special, however I have to ask...and I,,don't want to sound condesending but can you qualify - bred in the purple? Are there any known siblings or relatives that have published performance statisics that one can quote to qualify that statement, We may know that the sire is highly vaunted in our market. But what would make this particular horse any better that the other of his projeny racing in the country?

Main Dane didn't run a bad race, just next time he must not loose his jockey.

A question with a question to dodge the question....
but what has Main Dane got that would qualify him to be as you say bred in the purple....
is it because of what he cost, or who owns him ....what is special about his breeding...we've had a few
Fastnet Rock's here and similar was said about them but where are they and did they achieve a status for us
to warrant us to claim that they are great horses..the 2 that spring to mind are Curved Ball (Dingaans winner) and prospect sire at Klavervlei and that other highly heralded Liancourt Rock.....so what is special about this one?

a word of caution guys,iv seen c laird win many races with hotties and they get hyped up by punters and in most cases they fail to deliver big race wins so pls dont fall into the trap of getting carried away as it will cost u in long run.rather wait till these hotties race against decent horses and then judge them and if you feel they are stars by all means label them as feature race winners.
