Why are u punting / Limits?

I have a serious question to all punters here, thanks a lot for answers.

As far as south african punters cannot bet on betfair, it is obviously impossible to win with betting, as far as normal bookmakers are very fast to limit you or even deny your bets, when you are winning.

so, if it is excluded to win, why are u punting then? just for fun? wherein lies the fun, if it is for sure, that you will never leave this game as a winner?

Nobody bets for fun. The only time you bet for "fun" is when you are well up and you have a bet to get rid of the loose change in your pocket.

so where for then, chicken?

Just had a quick look at the last 2 days racing and of the 18 races that were run the tote in fact paid out less than the fixed odds div just 3 times...I know that this is a positive for the Tote and should be swept under the carpet and considered non newsworthy but thought I would mention it anyway....

really titch did you look to see what the best price the bookies had on offer or just the starting price?

I would say you will never get a better price on the tote on a well supported runner than you can with the books,ask the 100`s of serious gamblers on this site

yes, but thats the problem, hibernia. if you get this prize 4 or 5 times, the bookies will limit you

I took the SP......Im sure there were better odds available than SP as there were some that were less..horses drifted and shortened, picking the best price with the benefit of hindsight is easy Im sure we have all "missed" a price with the bookies and also taken a price only to see it drift to better...however as far as SP goes the tote won by a distance 15-3....sounds like a FA Cup final score to me..with the Tote in the Blue strip.

good luck to you titch with the tote..use them for place bets as well im sure they better than the fixed odds the bookies offer...with stats you could make mugabe look like an angel pal
