Horse Raceing is my extreme passion and I am in love with the game!

How I got into it - my good friend Marc Horsfield (some of you might know his father Ian) invited me to the races when I was 12 years old. Won my first ever bet at the age of 12....hooked ever since!

I work for SPORTINGBET.CO.ZA......I might already have some readers disliking me after they just read that, as I have seen a lot of positive and negative comments on the forums in the past! I fully understand that this is not a place for "free advertising" so just to make it clear, I have not joined the clan for that reason. I have joined so that I can keep up to date with the 'shredsters' of the game, the day to day info, and hopefully offer some of my knowledge to others.

My name is Johan Gerber.

I am from PE...
I grew up with horseracing (dad's influence) and just love the game!

My dad showed me the basics of racing, but I would like to understand the handicap/merit rating system better? I caught my first sstraightline PA in PE when I was in standard 2 those days, which paid R4800 at the time. Jimmy Anderson rode the winner in the last. I also dreamt the July winner Jamaican Rhumba, I think P. Wynne was the rider, but I have been hooked ever since!

My dad and I own our own Engineering workshop and we mainly overhaul presses for the tyre industry.I am also glad to be apart of this established site.
I love watching rugby, cricket, horseracing and cycle when I get a chance. I love to listen to Pop music and old time favourites like the Stones, John Mellencamp, Van Morrison and the list goes on. I part own two horses at the moment, the one being In a Rush and a baby that should race @ the end of the year. Thanx for all the laughs guys, keep it up.
