Mr H if memory serves me correct K Shea was stable jock to de kock b4 mawing came in the pic and k shea was brushed aside for mawing. My question is whats stopping that from happening again..... thats if k shea does decide to become stable elect for de kock here in sa

I think the attitude goes a long way in this game. Look at Andrew Fortune if you read his interview with Freeracer.

Look at Anton Marcus a role model jockey . He has been riding for Laird for years.

I hope Marwing did not think that De Kock would not make it without him cause he is proving him wrong.

Nothing to stop him giving Marwing rides but will Marwing want to ride for him again? I agree Anton is a true gentleman and even Fortune would make a good stable(pick up) rider - Ramsden always admired De Kock(i remember the praise he heaped on de Kock in his column in the sporting post) and i think Ramsden is the de kock of Cape town - saw the value in using Fortune and has reaped rewards

You got to admire Manna for the turnaround in his life and for openly admitting his mistakes.

I reckon he is going to give Marcus and Khan a run for their money come next season.

A concern of note.W Marwing hasnt won a graded race of note since the partnership break.Hope he isnt contemplating turning pro on the greens.

The other person to be congratulated is trainer R V Wyk.I was disappointed that he had his 1st winner at a minor center. Main reason being that he competed with the best as a jockey,rode for top stables,horse knowledge, etc,but i suppose u have to start someplace.

Come off it - any jock in the country could have won on Free My Heart vs Fort Defiance. He was conservatively 10 lengths superior. FD was a total one pacer who had a ridiculously inflated reputation due to running within 5 lengths of HChestnut when the champion must have been having an off day.
