The only good thigs from the cape are the chicks and the wine. The rest is rubbish, the mountain is flat, the seafood is copied from kzn, the top companies are international, and the best looking okes are from jhb the tote is weak, the racing isdominated by 4 owners/breeders nuff said

It never seems to take long for the 'Bring On Frankel' mob to re-emerge. Lol.

Having just calmed down the Yorker brigade we now have Vercingetorix to deal with.

I like Silvano as a sire so I will reservedly predict a bright future for this horse. Nothing more.

But logic is niggling and cautioning me to beware of backing any three year old in the 2013 July.

I guess that everyone loves and longs for a champion; the next superstar; the next Horse Chestnut.

Long may Vercingetorix unbeaten run continue :)-D

I rated CTN 101 over 2000m in the derby and can't really increase to more than 103 on Sat run........and have Vertingtorex the same.
On another thread Frodo and I agreed Rock Cocktail at 101 and this is in line , independently , of this rating.
MR are not an exact science but in my book both these horses will come into the July overrated-either that or a couple of runners in the Daily News were vastly underrated.

Talking about Frankel have you noticed that the horses he was humping 5L everytime he met them have won the 2 biggest races in the UK this season so far for older horses, both races by gaps...

Miss the bugger

Well Done to the MDK team.
The Dailey News was a strong field, great finish.

A couple months ago,In The Gig did an interview with MDK and the last questioned posed was...'Whats your next champion horse?' Reply....something along the lines...'i have some exciting horses that havent run yet..'

But when this Master Trainer says he's unsure if the horse will stay,we have to trust.
From the balance of the field, only No Worries and Wylie Hall were staying on strongly.

Congrats also to G Woodruff/B Faydherbe on a lucky win in the Wool G1.

I beg to differ the field may have been competitive......but certainly not strong......Vercingetorix and CTN are very good horses and have milers stamped all over them.....when a horse like No Worries gets within a short head to these 2 the race is by no means strong......read the Computaform comments on No Worries last 5 outings.....over lesser ground.....over Turf 1800m Handy no finish.....1450 In touch no finish....1600m In touch no extra....1800m In touch no finish.....Greyville Guineas1600m Led tired late.....the pace on Saturday suited this one to finish on top of Vercingetorix.....using a strong line horse can give an indication of a strong flield or formline......on the converse finding a battling horse to finish on top of so called stronger horses in my book.....throws that form out of the window.....:S

Rememeber that No Worries was ridden off the pace for the first time and made a big difference with change of tactics , all other races he was pacing it out in front and ran way better with this adjustment , also the blinkers was up for 2nd time to help with the concentration. First time it was on they used wrong tactics by leading almost 4 lenghs going through 400m against CTN and V over 1600m. Now only to work out exactly how many lenghs it made a difference .
Some horses is much much better if settled from the back and some are much better gunning from the word GO.
Compare my crazy theory to Flaming Rock and Surfing Home , SH never ran a place coming from off the pace and Flaming Rock never ran a place when making the pace. I dont know why it took GvZ so long to find out how the horse wants to run to true ability , must be kicking his own arse , could have won a Grade 1 before this race
