i guess its time that i accept that this 1day team of ours is not as good as i think they are.we have the number 1 and 2 batsman in the rankings and yet we fail to produce with the bat so the only conclusion is that our failure must be due to the selection,or the rest are not good enough for international 1 day cricket.its a pity because i believe we have the potential in the team to be the number 1 test,1day and t20 team in the world if only our players can get over their mental block in crucial games.anyway lets see how it goes when everyone is fit and we can put out our strongest team.there is always hope and i dont doubt the quality of our players, only there mental strength.

We often hear remarks about SA players joining the English test team. Here's some interesting facts off the ESPN website:
"I was watching a tribute programme about Tony Greig the other day. Was he the first South African to play for England? asked Michael Browning via Facebook"
Answer: "Actually Tony Greig was the second South African-born England Test cricketer: the first was Basil D'Oliveira, who made his debut in 1966 and was still playing when Greig won his first caps in 1972. Since then nine more South African-born men have played Tests for England: Ian Greig (Tony's brother), Allan Lamb, Chris and Robin Smith, Andrew Strauss, Kevin Pietersen, Matt Prior, Jonathan Trott and Nick Compton."

I am not sure if those are seeding or when they were drawn, I was just trying to get a reaction out of our friend CnC (who loves everything SA).

Shrek although I have not lived in SA for around 21 years I still support them and even followed them on a West Indies and an Australian tour plus spent stupid money on watching in the UK. I love it when we win but I am a realist and at the moment they are plan and simple crap in the ODIs.
As for rugby I support the Bokke through thick and thin and have also traveled to watch them play the likes of the All Blacks plus all the home nations. Just because i love it when the Bulls lose does not mean I do support SA rugby. Its a provincial thing just like I could not stand the then Transvaal cricket team.
PS
I still speak and will to my dying day with an SA accent unlike some of these wankers who leave SA and within 6 months have taken on the accent of the locals
