Everyone other than the 3rd umpire saw it as not out. No hotspot, the only noise is the bat hitting the pad. Need a competent umpire as 3rd umpire not a 2nd rate cricket trying his hand at Umpiring, Reifel also comes to mind here.

unfortunately the ICC dont allow any umpire that comes from the two countries playing officiating in a Test. Dharmasena gave a couple of iffy calls in the 2nd test as an on field umpire. The Aussies must be going mental in Australia.

Must be as there clearly was enough evidence to overturn the decision. Purely no spot on hot spot should be enough. :S

No doubt these decisions are beginning to leave something of a bad taste in the mouth. Sort it!

maybe India are right in not wanting DRS anywhere near them as its causing more harm than good.

I don't agree CnC. Its a good system used correctly but I just can't fathom a couple that have happened this series, I can see nothing that the 3rd umpire could have said he was unsure about in the one today, to me hot spot is vital, given no mark and then no noise at the moment the ball passed the bat, I can't understand why he would have said there was insufficient evidence to not change the decision. Shocking.

Unless you bring in "snicko" to determine faint edges you are wasting your time with DRS. Hot spot seems to be faulty or out of picture half the time. Will be interesting what the ICC do going forward as they need consistancy with DRS more than anything.

go back to letting the Umpires make the decisions, we would of moved on by now if that had been the case here....
