Lets be fair and ask if the trainer in question has anything to say about this situation.....
who knows maybe you could actually save your stable by telling us your side of the story
(trust me when i say i dont care about ur story cause it's your yard that the horse was in) but
to be fair let us HEAR your side... if you are man enough....

I do not ussually comment on these forums, but I have to say something. I am not only a punter, but a horse owner. I also know that if you catch an injury in time, you can possibily rehabilitate the horse. The horse might not be able to race again, but can be sold for various other purposes (even a companion horse). The only way to spot an injury is if you check the horses daily (by grooming). My horses also get minor injuries from the others, but are treated and checked every day. When you take on the responsibility of a horse (wether riding or racing) you can not allow situations like this to happen. By looking at the video, it is not only this poor horse, but I do not see any gracing or teff (please note this is speculation because I can not see the rest of the area).

I do not know what happened, but I can assure you that this horse should have been on stable rest with a good and safe place to rest. This is unacceptable!

In saying all this, the are organisations that can help and would appreciate financial support. The ones that come to mind is Highveld Horse Care Unit and Animals in Destress. It is our responsibility to enable bodies like these to do what they can to prevent this type of cruelty. We as punters can not turn a blind eye to what is happening in this industry. Let's put our voices and finances together to make racing a pleasant activity for our equine friends.

I will make a statement now that I will stick to..if nothing is done about this and this Jaap whoever he is I am personally selling all my horses including all the babies and mares and getting out of this revolting game once and for all..this is not on and I will not be associated with it at all..so NHRA and RA if you don't do anything I will and trust me I will make sure once Im out all the dirt Ive lived through in this game and turned a blind eye to will come out!!

For too long NHA has ignored these problems.

Racing has so much negative publicity and then this! It is the worst kind of abuse to do this to a horse that cant fight for himself but has given pleasure (not only by winning races)

Pathetic fines are given for ...
Not having colours on course
Fluvac 1 day out of date ( maybe we should all copy a vets stamp)
Passports late at course
Jockey not handing in medical book 1 hour before races

What about neglect and abuse of horse?

i certainly will not place a bet on betfair (only olace i punt) the next kim meeting. i think we should all do the same.

and ALL jockeys NOT to accept any rides for the next kim meeting.

I will boycott Kim for the next month. 100% dedicationo this cause

hi,the shams..was wondering when u would join the fray....and oscar...its such a bold statement u make....and well done to u both..for taking this stance...now just palying devils advocate here...what sought of penalty do u think should be meeted out to yourselves...if 1 of you was (heaven forbid) found guilty of the above violations

Now let me put something into light... I will put my head on a block in saying that if a few more owners were to share and do the same as Oscar... It would make all of them quickly sit up straight on there thrones... Which I must say is very sad truth... Why is it in life we wait for things to snowball and become something so unnecessary...

Have u never heard of the saying... "never look a gifted horse in the face" let's not do it now cause many more like Oscar will want nothing more to do with the game they love so much....
