Naidoo seems to have the knack in improving older horses

MP was 4.5kg out at the weights last run

1800 does not suit. My opinion. Also my opinion. . .Simons is a parachute and his strike rate with decent mounts is poor.
Fort Dixy the business. . . .as Ziets would say... sell your house.

if MUTHIHAH PILLAI, repeats last Saturdays run....... it's all over by a country mile.

I'm hoping Silver finishes in the first 4 ( unlucky not to get 3rd last time ) BUT he's not produced much
over 1800 distance - hoping this type of weaker field he can show something - time to start earning again.

Glad to see Fanie back on top - he was oblidged to ride for another stable, but it was Scratched.

I think BARON will run a big race.

good punting guys.

Have some time om my hands today, so made aneffort to really look at the card in depth; thoughts:

R2: Open looking handicap to start off the PA; obvious one for PA purposes is Hang Fire - has not won over the 1200, but has missed a place only once over the trip and that was in a Pinnacle Plate when out at the weights; Baron Zemo probably the logical backup, may be beaten for initial speed over the 1200, but should be running at them towards the closing stages and should be right there; all of Impresa, Magic's Magic and Vulcan tries the trip; of these I think Vulcan most likely will take to the sand and given the negatives about both Hang Fire and Baron Zemo (both having not won over the trip), could end up in the no 1 box; Magic's Magic is in form and could feature as well IF he takes to the sand, but Impresa gives me the impression that he needs more ground, so I prefer others; that leaves Gabronza (yet to prove he gets 1200) and Troubled Waters (prefers further imo)

Selection: Vulcan, Hang Fire, Baron Zemo

R3: Not a lot to enthuse about here; on the face of it Ajuba (if he can put his poor last effort behind him) should hold Judge the Stride on a line through Tobeturfterror; however it is possible that Tbtt has improved lately, so not impossible that JtS will finish in front of A - Fort Dixy has shown improvement in his last two efforts on the surface, so looks the only other one to consider for the first 3.

Selection: Ajuba, Fort Dixy, Judge the Stride

R4: Muthiah Pillai really stands out on his run on Saturday and should strole in if repeating that run - I have him running to an 81, so clearly well treated at the weights here. Should MP fail to deliver, the 2 that could take advantage imo are Sugar Ray, who has disappointed behind Chedwin Park, but has some solid recent places over this trip and Solar Energy - not sure what happened in his last start, but he could easily run in to the places here if repeating the form of his maiden win. Silver Specialist (break a leg, Elvis (tu)) needs to show a bit more to win imo, has place credentials as per usual and the only other one in the race is El Manolette, who (being out of a Cordoba mare) looks suspect to me over the 1800 trip.

Selection: Muthiah Pillai, Sugar Ray, Solar Energy

R5: Very open looking handicap where only Highland Lad is without a chance imo; looking at Formgrids, I make the value in the race the filly Extraordinaire, she won a very good race in her pinultimate start over the trip and is now effectively running off the same rating (courtesy of the appy allowance); however from a PA point of view, the safer inclusion is probably Jetsons - he has missed a place over this trip only once in 8 tries, so should be right there again; not much between Jetsons,Jolly Good Sir, Eagle Face and Kwaaiwater at the weights imo, so all of them must be considered; then we have the 3 yr olds Chief Sioux, Bah and Wendy Mae - all of them imo could have something to find at the weights, but can't be discounted altogether - at least Wendy Mae has won over the trip on the sand, so possibly the 'right' one of the 3.

Selection: Extraordinaire, Jolly Good Sir, Jetsons

R6: Toughest race on the card - nothing really without a chance imo and even Strong Blaze could surprise if he takes to the sand

No selection

R7: As mentioned before, imo Crown Mine deserves his rating and should go close - only negative the wide draw; if the draw does get the better of him, the ones to take advantage imo include Velddrifter and King Scott (nothing between them), Divine Invitation (traveled keenly with the blinkers last time, so should relish the drop in trip), Passion Pleaser (probably better over 1200?) and Oklahoma Trippi (has found some betting support so could place); imo African Flame is well held here

Selection: Crown Mine, Velddrifter, King Scott

R8: Looks a two horse contest, perhaps at the weights In My Secret Life could outrun Lucky Hand - Aloha Bay has really poor recent form, but has run decent races behind Lucky Hand and Miss K in June, and a repeat of those runs could see her cause a huge upset - unlikely, but this is racing after all. Ohiki Bay the only other that could upset the two favorites - IF she can bring her turf form to the sand

Selection: In My Secret Life. Lucky Hand, ??

In the collateral form I substituted Tote Turf Terror with Fort Dixy.
The comparison to Gypsy Al runs may be significant
