Pick 6 pools have increased sharply since couplings were dropped

Interesting comment, Len Sham.

This was my thought exactly, when I read the opening post by Hibs.

The emphasis is been placed only on the exotics. Would be interesting to see the stats on the non exotic bets (win, place,swinger etc.)

The whole picture needs to be looked.

As an analyst by career, I know how easy it is to reflect a good picture.

Give two analysts the same data, and you wil have two different views. It all depends on what view management want to present.

Maybe VM, has appointed a Mac "spin doctor", analyst.

Would really to receive the full set of data used to do the above analysis. Data for the entire card, and not just exotic races.

The pools for P6 will continue to grow.The main reason will be that the smaller bookmakers will no longer carry the
the bet and punters will not want to bet where there is a limit of say R500k
You win 5% and get say R25k instead of maybe a pool payout of R750k i.e R37.5k

I agree with you.
I have stopped taking the P6 with the bookmakers

Which is another plus for the tote and another reason for the couplings no longer applying..

The winning tickets in the week after the couplings fell away were far greater than with the couplings which leads me to believe that a lot more studying is going into it and rewards are duly forth coming

I would have thought the bigger the pools the more winners one would have!.....:S

Why would u feel that the bigger the pool the more winners there has to be :S R27 million soccer 13 pool produces very few winners...

How much of the increased pool sizes are due to carryovers? its fair enough to point out the biggest pool is 5.7m but a lot of that money had already been counted. Large pools are going to draw players initially but i would wait at least a year before i praise the rule change, if punters keep losing will they keep playing?

So by inference, you feel the bigger the pool there should be less the winners?............:S


You also better tell the soccer 13 players to do a lot more studying as well........

You are missing the point completely (could be by design) the point im trying to make has got zip to do with the size of the pool, the general consensus is that since the removal of the coupling rule the Pick 6 bet has been made a lot harder to catch and I say that by putting in extra time and effort the punter can nullify that hurdle and the amount of winning tickets of late would be indicative of this point...capiche??

titch no amount of extra studying is gonna make you find a lesser fancied horse in a coupling, i think players are focusing on stables which are known to produce the result in these circumstances.... ie smith in pe, erasmus in gauteng...??
