KB is one tough cookie so if he says it's dangerous then it must be - hopefully GC will get their act together before someone gets hurt:X

Interesting comment by another trainer standing with his owner that I had not thought of. He said " What about my horse, he loves the hard, the harder the better for him!" I have heard the same from an owner who has a horse that loves it soft and has had the meeting abandoned 2x when really fancying his horse because of the going. Night Lock and Assessment loved the going and pulled up better than ever. As an official has said before, "he will never force anyone to ride and if the jockey wants to get off he is fully entitled to. If another jockey wants to then take that ride it is fine but will never force a guy to ride" It is difficult as we and GC do know that Greyville with the lack of a sprinkling system due to the new track being built, the different types of grass on the track etc, is not perfect by any means but there is now a 6 week break to get things better. They must and will work very hard on it.

everyone can accept firm going what is not acceptable is inconsistency in the going and also very little or no grass cover and those patches....graeme hawkins said on tellytrack last week the grass track needs to be dug up and relaid with the correct drainage put into place and it will take around 6 months is this not admitting once and for all that the turf track at greyville is fcuked fcuked fcuked...antony delpech in a winning interview at a previous greyville meeting was asked by deez about the state of the greyville track his answer NO COMMENT....first delpech then shea then mrs de kock now who next maybe lester piggot and aidan o brien for their comments...

THE WELFARE of the horses is last on the operators agenda

Pathetic response.
Trainers are not the ones who have to ride the horse.

Observer1, Trainers are the ones who talk to the owners(payers) after the race and have to justify why the horse ran like it did, whether it pulled up lame and if so then fix it. Trainers are working with those horses 24/7 in most cases do feel for their horses. Jockeys do have a dangerous living but so do many other occupations and they are well paid for it. As said before, my winner and placed pulled up better than ever and earn't their Owners(payers) about R40000 in stakes. Happy Owners and sound horses. Another thing is if you look at how many horses finished more than 25 lengths off(my opinion of there then being something wrong somewhere) you will see Clairwood yesterday 7 and Greyville Friday 0. I have not seen or read 1 post saying anything about that. I have spoken to 3 trainers and their runners from Greyville pulled up well. Greyville is not perfect by any means but it seems like everyone is jumping on them without being absolutely sure of the facts and the results of having run on the track.

craig i no want to argue about some thing as you say i have no information about. how ever when one of the most important part of the raceing, the jockey and especially the seasoned senior jockey say the track is no safe, then we have the problem. for me the most important thing is the horse. it is the poor show that patches are present and raceing is allowed to go on. is my opinion. to me the plan of a greyville meeting while all the construction is go on is show me one thing and that is poor plan by gold circle.

HI FH, I am trying to have a balanced approach to this subject. There were jockeys who said that they thought the course was raceable and it is borne out by the general consensus of opinion here at Summerveld(of the trainers I chatted to) that the horses pulled up better from Greyville than Clairwood yesterday. One trainer said that his horses teeth were loose in their heads from the going yesterday!
I hate one sided comments and we get a lot of that on this forum. To some it does not matter what GC/Racing does it is wrong. There are deals etc with overseas racing that we have to honour. Greyville is not right but it was raceable and no jockey got off their rides.
