More of Gareth and Alistor on TT
11 years 2 weeks ago
Yes I know its been debated to death, but I have to say this..Why do we not see more of these two top youngsters on our racing coverage screens??
These are two top class guys, everybody knows that, many trainers, owners and punters say it but why is it not happening.
If you have an opinion say it please I would like to hear your comments

Gareth is good because he has time to research his region Kimberley, and if he is deluted then maybe standards will slip, plus he mentions his breeder buddies too much
Ali is heading towards being the best commentator but makes a few mistakes when presenting, like giving fillies balls etc..
Both are decent at their jobs
The PE presenters are top notch atm,mix between Nadine,Sheldon and Ali
JHB seems to be on the ball again with JD or the new anaylist with Julie or Molly works fine imo
Vicky in the cape,with Gareth?
Deez is top notch in KZN and Laff adds a bit

I love them all this morning. Cecil sucks and Rod Mac suck but this morning I love them all.
I would get a few Playmates to help Dave Mollett then the channel would rock.

Hibs I think they should use Gareth more in Cape Town and Durban...the trainers that do it in those two areas are good but they trainers! Gareth is a presenter and form studyer and really why should trainers also be given presenting jobs, they two great guys Laff and Stan, however I really believe that TT should be using Gareth more, his info at Kimberly is superb, really.

Don't you just love Julie.
She thinks everything starts and ends in JHB

Was funny when she was in Cape Town and thanked Vicky for helping with the broadcast as if she was the lead presenter and they (the Cape presenters) were the out-of-towners !!!

Nadine never asks the trainers or jockeys how their later rides are likely to fare.
Surely thats what she is supposed to be there for. Punters.

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy !!!!!!!

I agree with Oscar - both of the youngsters are top class in my book. Both make a real effort to bring info and the fruits of their studies to punters. Both have a good, long career ahead of them. It would be interesting to hear Ali's story on how he became a commentator. THAT story will reveal his real passion, commitment and love of Racing. Gareth too. He eats, sleeps, drinks and lives Racing - I dont think he knows or wants to know about anything else, if its not Racing related.
Oscar is 100% correct - these two passionate, dedicated youngsters should be encouraged and developed. Gareth should be doing a lot more than Kimberley and the odd shift here and there.
I hope that whoever is in charge of this, wakes up, for the good of Racing, which is bigger than any individual. I really hope that it is not a personality or favouritism thing.
I am going to find out, though.....
