With all due respect, you are incorrect. To name a few which I will mention as per your post and please anyone who thinks I'm off the chart here, feel free to correct me.

DYNASTY 4 (2003)
EYEOFTHETIGER 4 (2006)
ROYAL CHALICE 4 (1988)
ILLUSTRATOR 4 (1990)
BUSH TELEGRAPH 4 (1987)
TEAL 4 (1995)
LONDON NEWS 4 (1996)
DANCING DUEL 4 (1993)
IPI TOMBI 4 (2002)
CLASSIC FLAG 4 (1998)

BIG CITY LIFE was the first three year old since 1978 which broke a 31 year drought for 3 YO until last year when HEAVY METAL turned the tables.

All those horses were 3yr olds when they won the July,
Dynasty won the daily news followed by July, the daily news is a 3yr old race

A few things here...

Yeah it was a great run from 17 lengths behind but he's 4 kg's worse off with CA for 1.25 lengths :S It showed... can I explain why... look at the run on the 21st December 2013 when LEGISTLATE was flattened 6 lengths by CAPTAIN AMERICA, don't care how good he is, it's an impossible task for LEGISLATE to beat the Crawford runner.

We all saw how well that BEZANOVA form line worked out on the 03rd May run, and besides LEGISLATE has only beaten three runners to date in this years Durban July field, two of which IMO he was lucky to beat but we won't get into that.

Another major factor, how many horses have won the July where they've only beaten two and three year old's, let's be honest he hasn't beaten a good older runner to date and he's uncontested against 13 runners in this field, unless the racing gods are with LEGISLATE on Saturday I can't see him running in the first six.

I would need a really great reason to back him to win, his 400m - finish times are average, never seen a horse with a 123.07 Daily News winning time (bottom 10%) win the Durban July. Noordhoek, I wish you luck and if he comes home a winner then I will admit I was completely fooled and wrong about his chances.
