Greetings from India

Hey Clansmen
Just landed in India and glad to say that our hotel has wireless internet. A bit slow but at least can access my favorite site.
Sad state of affairs here and reality has hit me hard. Children as young as 7 working on the streets selling whatever they can. Brings a tear to the eye.
Well I believe that they have Derby racing as they call it on Sundays only so a little bit dissapointed. Amazing how the people here just recognise a foreigner.
Well hard 10 days ahead and hopefully can keep my emotional side in check.
Good luck to all clansmens runners and hope you guys find plenty of winners .
Cheers

Hello Mori,
i recall stopping off in Bombay ( mumbai ) quite a few years ago, on my way to Hong Kong & the taxi driver offered to take me to the red light district. I politely declined, for fear of never coming out of there ALIVE again.
It is a pittyful sight, when you open the bedroom curtains in the morning to be greeted by hundreds of starving / begging street kids. Is this still very much the norm these days Mori ? or have things improved ?

Hi Elvis
I have been to Delhi and Kolkatta (east India).it was just as El Piches says..they have a cast system. The rich are known as the brahmins and the poor, the real poor, are the untouchables. Its really obscene that all this money is been spent on the cricketers for the 20/20 league. Most of that money will not be put back into India.I'm not there.

Thanks Scotia
Had a lovely 1/2 chicken tikka with roti last night. Very fussy when it comes to food and will try and avoid the 1000 spices in dishes here.

Watch out for ice in your drinks....last time i was there they had a hepatitis c outbreak and people got sick from contaminated ice blocks made from "ganges"water...remember when you nod to say yes your head must go from left to right!
