Bloodstock SA – Update Two Year Old Sale Incorporating Fillies For Stud
Bloodstock SA is pleased to advise that we have a catalogue of 346 entries for our National Two Year old Sale, which also incorporates fillies for stud. We have catalogued 320 two year olds and 16 fillies for stud.

The catalogue is currently being distributed countrywide.

The sale will take place on Thursday the 13th August and Friday the 14th August, 2014, and commences at 11h00 on both days. The first 200 lots will be sold on day one, with the remaining 146 lots being sold on day two. All two year olds will be sold first, irrespective of their lot number. The fillies for stud will be sold thereafter on day two.

The catalogue is broken down as follows:
Main catalogue – Lots 1 – 309 – Two Year Olds, Lots 310 – 321 fillies for stud
Supplementary catalogue – Lots 322 – 339 Two Year Olds, Lots 340 – 343 fillies for stud.

There are also three additional entries that are not in the main catalogue or supplementary catalogue. These will be distributed with the supplementary catalogue.

Thinking about getting involved again - ran some stats - and these show that costs are really getting out of hand - Dynasty the top sire this past season on AEPR (average earning per runner), but even assuming very cheap training and other costs at 80K a year, if you pay more than 50K at the sales, your average Dynasty would show a loss after 3 years of earning :ohmy:

2 years ago Oscar asked me to go get him a nice horse at the national 2yo sale, i picked 2 horses for Oscar to chose from ......

HE picked NOTTING HILL (we all know how impressive he been since trained by the Shams)
8 runs 2x wins , 2x 2nds and a 3rd from 8 starts
beaten by a nose in listed race.

The other one was a filly called Wolverina
3x wins and a 2nd from 5 starts and carded to run at greyville gold cup day


So i will be at sales and hopefully stumbled across a bag of cash to try buy another top horse in the making. :silly:
