Miranda Frost at R1.20 looks really powerful, I could never back a horse at R1.20 since in-running variables have more of a chance of disrupting the race than 2/10 - Merry Widow has looked the most impressive to me.

Jeez guys. Have a look at the replay Grant Van Neikerk should be taken to task almost brought Richard Fourie down at the 500m mark. That was the end of Chill Baby Chills race.

Good run for a few of those nice fillies. I think Chill baby and Mirandas jockeys cut their own throats early on but Nothing wrong with the winner. Nice .

With this win The Merry Widow demands attention , will be interesting to see how she develops on this. My Pre-Race selection was Don't Stop Dancing - alas was scratched but will take the winner , once again early on there where some very generous odds about this winner with the bookies.

Pre-race I made Navasha a 60% chance winner, wouldn't take the even money on offer now as principle, but around 13/10 earlier on I believe was offering some value.

Indeed - I prefer to do all my early betting with the bookies, (that way you don't get hit with The Merry Widow paying R3.10) prices i am quoting here are tote prices. I like to make my assessment off the early betting (Navasha was 11/10 - ML) and then don't change decision thereafter regardless of what happens
