extremely disappointing the 2yo features on july day especially the colts race .all the group 1 and 2 winners and placed horses missing from both races ...these races have been down graded from group 1 to group 2 and rightfully so in fact these fields on july day are more like group 3 and listed fields..colts race pathetic as not one horse has ever been placed in a group race

The last time I can remember when this race was classified as a Grade 2 it deprived London News would what have been his first Grade 1 winner in Port of London who won the race. I think Port of London ended up in Hong Kong.

In the fillies equivalent, Warning Zone ,won beating, Sabina Park, who is the dam of July runner, Master Sabina.

They should have kept this race as a Grade 1 race in my opinion rather than the one at the end of the month. Well they did revert it before hope they do it again.

Tough card. Interesting to see what horses end up being supported. remember last years SJ opened up 4/1, race time 16/10. Fond memories as landed my biggest ever single bet.

Sorry Naresh, totally disagree.... the JHB 1160m race should move back to a Grade 2 as it was. There are no CPT, PE or KZN horses in general that contest that race which makes it purely a local JHB race which is also very early in the season.

The 1200m, 1400m & 1600m races in KZN during the winter season are contested by the best in the country and deserve Grade 1 status for all three.
