A clever liquidator will see the opportunity to make a killing. The estate will pay his costs. So he actually has carte blanche if he can convince the court it will be in the best interests of the creditors to keep and race the horses he recovers
But that is only speculation. We will have to see how this whole thing pans out

They can only be held accountable if it can be proven that they knew it was stolen money.
He was money laundering. He was buying horses at a steep price and then selling it at a cheaper value so the money flowing into his bank account will seem legitimate. That money can be recovered as it is an illegal transaction...

Someone said to me today that if I think that this story is bad, then I must wait until the weekend or next week, there is a bigger stories coming , they are just not sure how to handle it.

Who knew Arthur J Brown was swindling....let the vV's have their day in court (unlike numero uno who has been avoiding his day at all costs although stating so)

The only reason anyone was able to buy these insanely expensive horses at the ridiculously cheap rates at this dispersal was due to the "owner" trying to liquidate very quickly. Hate to say it but doesn't look likely that anyone who bought these horses will have a leg to stand on in getting to keep the horses.

Shocking but not completely unexpected.....
Not very many of the big boys could/can continuously throw money at this game at the rate that he did.
How does this shake out for Azzie?
This whole affair stinks to high heaven. Let him face his day in court and racing don't need his ilk, we need more men like Mr. Jooste!

appropriate colours..."Orange Is The New Black"
He has damaged Racing more than anyone else before and has made a mockery of ownership. The crocodile tears about poor Abba... and the terrible treatment he got on social media!!

mr Hawaii - Go ABBA Go will never forget that day as there is a big story about a scratched runner in that race that was scratched on purpose after being bought from Mawing two days before the race , because it was the only horse that could spoil the party.
Chris van Buuren - Could not agree with you more - Now have even more respect for MJ. and the money he puts in.
Thor - I was thinking that if you bought a three or four year old you might be ok. This is going to take time to sort out , the liquidators have to find all of them , get them to one place feed them then sell them , so you go back make a deal and pay a few rand extra , these are animals . In this time the new owners can see if they have something or not , any doubt dump them then the value is zero. The liquidators I think will be more interested in sorting out the property side.
Sylvester was thinking the exact same thing to day about the children , Sad very Sad. Although I was never happy to see them allowed into the parade ring and be treated like Gods by Larry and his cronies , Children are Children.
