Here is an example of 'damned if you do damned if you don't'.Cheyne wins the last but not on the right horse for the stable. They backed Gimme one night from 30-1 into 7-1 and Cheyne keeps Our Emperor going.

comments were given this morning...
What's your opinion Flaunt?.Mine is that they always where going to back it and put Smitsdorff up to get the best possible price and give a negative comment so the bookies don't open it up too short.I can't say if that is true as it is only my opinion but only the trainer can tell us the real story.I mean if you here the horse had a troubled prep and will need the run do you think the public will go and back it?So the money probably came from someone in the know.

Undecided really on what I think, I am talking from my pocket, based on the comments you had to believe it could not win .. the trainer could have said back end of quartets and I read it differently . Is it dishonesty or he is not a good judge I don't know. I have a bad taste though --- most traded horse on the exchange and it supposedly had an interrupted prep!!! Laughable ;) :cheer:

Let's hope the powers that be can get a comment from him about the win.Maybe there is a perfectly good explanation or maybe not.The public don't like being messed around like this.Transparency is all we ask for in this game and I would think it's the operators duty to see exactly why that comment was given and why money came for the horse.
