Morning on day 125.
Not sure when we will hear from the President again? Its reached embarrassing proportions for him to address the nation, especially after his “fight corruption” speech to the citizens.
However what about Stradivarius, that was a special win.
There is talk that the ARC might be on the cards but I am sure Frankie will stick with Enable.
Goodwood again today and the Sussex Stakes looks a cracker where the 2000 gns winners clash. The unbeaten Siskin vs Kameko, if we add recent Ascot winner Mohaather to the equation, a race not to miss.
Always difficult to think what song or video to show.
Sometimes songs go through my head and can’t find via search?
This is probably the reason why........

Day 126
Watched the funeral yesterday of Andrew Mlangeni, certainly appeared to be one of the last of the Mandela type leaders for the ANC.
RIP
Rather than having an old white miserable bastard moaning on a daily basis, it was wonderful to listen to numerous black, well articulated leaders, speak up against the current regime.
We also had the very sad news that the well respected and generous Kelvin (Kelvins Bar) passed away, thoughts and prayers with Angie, family and friends.
It’s day 3 of Goodwood where a difficult Nassau Stakes will be run, last years winner Deirdre is in the field but Fancy Blue is preferred.
English King, the Derby fav, should make amends for his loss and get back on winning ways.
I am in a funny mood this morning, so for no reason whatsoever, here is my song for today.

Day 127 and another month ends and the weekend starts.
More shocking reports re: our corrupt government, more “special leave” given.
I really did have faith in Ramaphosa leadership initially but he is just coupled on the tote with Zuma. 😪
It’s the sales today but the announcement that “the fixers” of racing are asking for an extension, is badly timed.
Back to Goodwood and another record breaking attempt.
We have had Stradivarius, Enable and now the stage is set for Battaash attempts to win the King George Qatar Stakes for a forth year.
He looks a certainty and will be short odds 1/3 but should be stealing money and a bet on the winning distance is a better option.
Here is last years win from the flying machine.

I know I sound like a stuck record but the silence of the Pres and his merry band is deafening.
Are they all scrambling to clean up their houses and hide their ill gotten gains or is it the usual " Im fine Jack so f... you?
Ridiculous Regulations resulting in more business's closing, more job losses, poverty, hunger, misery, escalation of crime........... and then blaming the people for not following the ''' guide lines."
To quote Francis Bacon " It is the wisdom of the crocodiles, that shed tears when they would devour."

Day 128 of lockdown.
Yesterday we had a power cut and the dustbin men are on strike.
It’s Saturday and don’t want to fight with anyone.
Well Battaash won in a flash in a new track record.
Not that excited about the last day at Goodwood but Enbihaar should win the small but difficult big race.
Better to have a go at the Stewards Cup, massive field and a word that I have been dying to call for some time BARBILL, so ew at 25/1, won’t hurt you.
The sales: R7 million for a horse in SA during the current climate, I was shocked but happy with the confidence.
It’s the new racing season but we really need to kick into action as all the action plans and task teams appear to be rather pedestrian?
It’s the FA cup final today, not sure where you are watching the game?
Hope the Gunners win for Zoro on his birthday.
I know we should all be sitting in our homes with a cup of tea and waiting to pass away, but what the hell, enjoy life.

Yes Dave that 7 million price was huge for racing in SA at these trying times.

The one I go to never closed through lockdown as they classified themselves as essential services cleaning and sanitizing, got away with it.

Morning all on day 129.
We having a lovely weekend and don’t care anymore about the restrictions we have, just getting on with life.
As my Nan used to say “your a short time living and a long time dead”.
That was when I was young and now it’s definitely true 🤭
I notice Sly has changed his profile pic on Facebook.
So this one is for him during this lockdown, it’s a long haul.
