In the days of yore, horses used to race several times, over miles, in ONE day.

in days gone by Trainer Mazaham , Sheft , Rowe and at the end of hos career Henry Eatwell also raced a lot of horses with many many runs.
Mr Scott had a horse called Mark You that raced until 13 or 14 year old aslo losta runs.
None match Ziets example in terms of total runs

I can remember a horse, Bwana Bahati, it ran on Boxing Day, dont know where it finished off but I can recall it winning the next day at Greyville.

Hi Guys,
So I've done a bit of research on my side, looks like Dvinsky holds the UK record with a total of 224 runs.
Wish it was as easy to find info on South African runners.

The one I most vividly remember was Tom and Jerry, also trained by Buddy,I believe. (Perhaps his dad?)
Well over 120 runs.
Led my employer to quib at the time....."the horses have pencils in their hooves as they nominate themselves".
Good times

Trained by his dad - Robbie would let those 2yr olds run often - His babies might have had 10 or more starts before turning 3 and he would use appies often to help them with the weight and his horses did not break down very often.
I wonder what the longest losing streak for a horse is(Pumkin Pie must be up there)
