De Vlugge another fair run but did not show the expected improvement. However, I think that was a strong maiden and the form should hold up.

Two runners at Fairview on Friday.
Elusive Hunter in race 1. Has shown nothing so far. Needs big improvement.

*Elusive Mata in race 3. Very disappointing last time. On her best form she is well in at these weights. Work has been solid, so hoping for a decent run.

Fair debut by Walk With Me in 4th. Would have gone closer if getting a better jump at the start.

One runner at Fairview on Tuesday. Nothingelsematters relocates from Gauteng. Race 5. First run on poly, but a good draw and if he handles the surface must have a decent chance as he has been running against stronger.

Nothingelsematters ran on well into 4th. Fair poly debut. However, he has done best with a long run-in, and should enjoy the Fairview turf track.

One  runner at Greyville on Wednesday. Pascali runs in race 5. He has improved his last few starts, and although he has run some fair races on poly, he is probably better on turf. Should be competitive.

Pascali fair run in 3rd, but needs to be ridden from off the pace. Will win soon on turf.

One runner at fairview on Friday. Mhlabeni in race 6. He won well last time when out at the weights, and again not well in, but he is very gutsy and can surprise. Grazinginthegrass will be the one to beat.

Mhlabeni faded badly after going hard up front.

One runner at Turffontein on Saturday. Aussenkher runs in race 8. Carries a big weight and unlike last run, no claimer aboard. Tough task, but he is game and can never be ignored. Amber Rock and Cosmic Star look the two to beat but an upset is possible.

No show from Aussenkher.

One runner at Scottsville on Sunday. Dawn Surprise in race 2 looks ready to win, and the scratching of her main danger helps. An Air of Pride and The Queen Bee should chase her home unless the first timer shows ability.

Convincing win by Dawn Surprise after all the scratchings.

3 runners at Fairview on Friday.
*Elusive Mata and Elusive Hunter in race 3. Improved run by EM last time, and she is ready to win. The ex jhb filly Crystal Maiden will be a stern test.
Elusive Hunter has shown very little, and gets a wide draw, but may improve this trip. Needs to stick to the Maiden handicaps.

Beau Kala in race 8. Has been pipped on the post last couple, so deserves a change in luck. However, loses the 2.5kg claim and also got a 3 point raise, so not an easy task at the weights. Concerto looks the one to beat.

Elusive Mata very disappointing effort- maybe a bit soon after last.
Beau Kala caught late again- is holding form.

One runner at Greyville on Sunday. * Pascali in race 8.
Right course and distance, and gets the services of Fourie, but a horrible draw so will have to run at them as he doesn't like to be bustled early.
Perhaps a little bit soon after last run, but he pulled up well from that. With some luck in the running he could win this.
Quite a few inconsistent ones in this field, so a surprise result is quite possible. Pieter Both has scope for improvement. Shotgun Willie has fair Cape form and is down to a competitive rating. Iron Will is consistent and won his last two and gets the 1.5kg claim, so is well in at the weights but also a wide draw to overcome.

one runner at Kenilworth on Tuesday
Exceeder in race 6. Has come down in the ratings, and never too far off them. Has a small ew squeak in a very open race.

Exceeder no show.

One runner at Turffontein on Saturday.
Aussenkehr runs in race 8. Has run well this course and a fair draw. After the scratching of Mid Winter Wind has been made a weak favourite, but has a lot to do at the weights.
Chrome Tourmaline poor run last time, but on best form is well in at the weights.
Very open race.
