EH scratched. Countess only good enough for maiden handicaps.

One runner at Kenilworth on Tuesday.
De Vlugge (The Fast One) runs in race 1. Hopefully she lives up to her name. The mare has 100% winners to runners, and they tend to come early. Some tough opposition that have a run under the belt, and some nicely bred first timers, so will need to be above average to win this on debut. Can’t get hurt with a little ew nibble at 16/1.
Dark Winter decent debut and the logical favourite, but can’t take odds on when you don’t know what you are up against with so many unraced.

De Vlugge reasonable debut 4th behind 2 decent looking sorts. Was green, so should come on a few lengths next time.
JP Twothousand was stepped up to 1800m and not disgraced in 5th place.

Three runners at Fairview on Friday.
Beau Kala runs in race 6. Very competitive race and looks stronger than last time where she went hard and was caught late. Gets a good draw and 2.5kg claim so must have an ew chance but the improving younger fillies are preferred.
*Lady Renee and *Elusive Jewel run in race 8.  LR went a bit too hard early with no cover, and faded late. If ridden with more restraint should run better. She is fit and well and is decent ew value at 10/1 in an open race where nothing stands out.
If EJ behaves and jumps on terms, then she can surprise at long odds, but can't be relied upon.

Nice win by Lady Renee- peach of a ride by Louis.
Beau Kala just touched off after looking a winner.

One runner at Turffontein on Saturday. Aussenkehr in race 8. Has been disappointing last couple, but gets 2.5kg claim and on best form that brings him right into contention. I am Giant probably the one to beat, but a competitive field and quite a few with chances.

Good run by Aussenkehr in 2nd

Three runners at Kenilworth on Monday
*Princess Raya in race 3. Has shown nothing at the races so far, but hoping  that she will start improving as she strengthens. Gets a nice draw but needs to improve many lengths to feature.
Hokaai My Meisie in race 5. Very disappointing so far. I’m a bit surprised that she is in this race and not the open maiden. I’ll be surprised if she is looking for this trip.
Exceeder in race 6. Hasn’t done as well in CT and surprised that he is near the top of the boards. On best form he has a shout.

No shows at Kenilworth

Two runners at Fairview on Tuesday
*Sunlit From Heaven in race 2. Won’t get an easier chance to win her maiden. If this was turf with long run in I would be very sure. She has run ok on poly so I think that she will win. But the price is too skinny.
*Elusive Mata in race 3. Not the strongest of fields and a good winning chance.

Nice win by Sunlit. Elusive Mata a bit disappointing- expected better than 4th from her.

Two runners at Fairview on Friday.
Mhlabeni in race 6. Very tough race where the top weights look too strong and he  needs to bounce back from poor last effort
Beau Kala in race 7. If not too soon after last run must again have a decent ew chance.

Very good win by Mhlabeni despite being out at the weights. Good ride.
Nearly had the double with Beau Kala- again just caught on the line.

One runner at Scottsville on Sunday. Dawn Surprise in race 3. Despite being drawn on the wrong side of the track, I think that she can win after a couple of decent efforts.
A couple of unknown first timers, but of those that have raced, Jazz Cafe and Flying Reign Storm look the two to beat.

Dawn Surprise looked a winner 200m out, but seemed to take an awkward step and then hung which cost her the race.
Won’t be a maiden much longer.

One runner at Vaal on Tuesday. Celtic Rumours in race 8. Was punished for her recent win, but still ran a fair race in the Heritage. Has a tough draw to overcome but with some luck in the running has a fair ew shout.
