Golden Ideal fair 4th behind runaway winner.

One runner at Fairview on Friday. Elusive Mata in race 5. Horrible draw to overcome first time out the maidens. needs luck but capable.
One runner at Greyville on Friday. Common Grounds in race 6. Has claims.

Very gutsy run by Elusive Mata from wide draw and very well ridden.
Common Grounds given an awful ride- wasted the good draw by being slow away and then found traffic until the race was over.

One runner at Kenilworth on Wednesday 
Double Dash in race 2. She is off a competitive rating, and ought to fight out the finish, but her jockey inspires no confidence- he has yet to win in SA despite numerous opportunities. 

Double Dash made all but collared late to run third.

One runner at Fairview on Friday. Elusive Hunter in race 5. She has been dropped back to her mark of MR53 on which she won a maiden handicap, so has a squeak, but must improve a couple of lengths on her last two starts. Very open race. 

Elusive hunter showed pace and faded out late.

Two runners at Kenilworth on Sunday.
*Golden Ideal in race 4. Very open maiden. She gets a good draw and steps up to 1400m. She is bred to prefer the extra and I’m hoping that she can again finish in the money.
Celtic Rumours in race 7. She makes the trip from Gauteng, and is in good form. Her best runs have come over 1400m so this may be a bit quick for her. Should be running on and the kenilworth 1200m is quite testing, so could earn a cheque.

Golden Ideal was traveling well enough but did not quicken. Was a bit shin sore the next day.
Celtic Rumours was drawn on the inside which was clearly the better going down the straight on the day. Was outpaced and is better 1400m. However, this was a very strong race, and she has been in CT for just 3 weeks, so is better than this run and could be competitive in the Sceptre same C&D with this CT run under the belt.

one runner at Fairview on Friday. Treasure Hunt in race 3. The 1200m probably a bit sharp for her, but she gets the plum draw and if they let her get a soft lead she is capable. Competitive race where the 3 to beat are Woman of Power, Kapon Kapi and Mis Shaivi.

Treasure Hunt outpaced throughout, no show.

One runner at Turffontein on Saturday.
Almond Sea in race 5. Top filly, but Rodeo Drive has a big pull at the weights, and the weather won't help. They obviously didn't want her and Pistol Pete in the same race, otherwise the Lebelo would have been better for her.

One runner at Kenilworth. Walk With Me in race 9. Went lame after last good win. Is a classy sort and if fit can make his presence felt.

Walk With Me showed pace and faded- looked like he still needed this run.

One runner at Fairview on Monday. Treasure Hunt in race 4. Ran just a couple of days ago so this race probably comes too soon, although better distance for her. Golden Pacific looks the one to beat in a competitive race.

Almond Sea good run 2nd in the soft going- winner showed big improvement. This race was run faster than the Lebello Sprint, where Pistol Pete carried 5kg less. 

Treasure Hunt poor- this mare needs time between races.
One runner at Vaal on Tuesday.
Warning Sound in race 1. Two fair runs, and can win this with a bit of improvement. Gimme Passion good debut and the one to beat. Cherry oh Baby fair run after the break and must be respected. Faithful Mistress poor last time but her two earlier runs were good enough. Messalina well exposed but better run last time and if repeating won't be far off. Head to the Stars fair debut and should improve on that. A couple of unraced to consider as well.

Good win by Warning Sound- looks to have scope for more.. 
One runner at Greyville on Wednesday. Dawn Surprise in race 8. Difficult draw to overcome in an open race. She has come down in the ratings and if she jumps well and gets a decent position around the bend she is quite capable of winning a race like this. 

Dawn Surprise caught wide and a hot early pace- faded out.

Two runners at Fairview on Friday.
Hiersdieding in race 3. Starting over with him- has taken a while to come to hand. This will be too short but just want to see him show interest and run on.
Nothingelsematters in race 6. Has come down in the ratings and should improve this track. EW chance in a competitive race. Harold the Duke and Puerto Plata look the two to beat.

Nice win by Nothingelsematters. Well overdue- I thought on his CT form he would pick up a race much sooner after the move to PE. 

One runner at Kenilworth on Saturday. Celtic Rumours in race 4. Needs to improve quite a bit on her Merchants run which was below par. 1200m not her ideal distance but at best if there is a strong pace she could run on into the places.
Asiye Phambili has been the standout female sprinter in CT and I'm surprised that she is not favourite. I think that she has the beating of Gimmie's Countess, although there won't be much in it. Bavarian Beauty comes back from a long break and prefers further, but is a class filly. Summer Lily ran a cracker last time, and Symphony in White found it too far last time. Roccapina is very progressive and these must all go into the quartets.
