How will this change impact local horseracing coverage on TV? I have heard rumours about changes on the cards i.e. Will racing remain on channel 249 on DSTV. Apparently studio contract in Rivonia not being renewed. And Gold Circle, are they still wanting to do their own thing as far as TV coverage is concerned?
If it is only going to be a Live streaming service going forward then I see red lights on the horizon.

Some very disturbing news about 4racings new broadcast and streaming guys

TelkomONE streaming service – A disappointing mess mybroadband.co.za/news/broadcasting/3747...appointing-mess.html

BCX Telkom, is their new connectivity provider , they seem to be in big shit

Telkom burning through billions while warning signs pile up
Telkom argues this is due to 'an increase of R1.1 billion in capex paid in the period under review' www.citizen.co.za/business/business-news...rning-signs-pile-up/

All this on top of the split at Tellytrack

I received an email from IRC yesterday and I quote

"There is a perception among racing fans that 4Racing is responsible for the embattled racing channel Tellytrack, but Gordon said: “We did not buy Tellytrack as it’s a partnership between the existing operators. We’ll be launching our own channel, 4Racing TV, in due course.”

So can I ask what the overall picture (if we have one ) will look like?
Bottom line is, where will the man in the street/punter be able to watch local and overseas racing that is available from the tote and bookmakers?

Is the answer classified 🤔

My none to well informed opinion, looking from the outside, is that SA racing has seemingly replaced one group of capturers with another group of capturers...just this time it has BEE support...

No one seems interested in doing simple things exceptionally well...sad...:(

My only interests in SA racing is Hollywood's Punters Challenge and KOMMETDIEDING...

I prefer punting the chariots down under!!

Ed, I hear from very good sources, inside and outside the Gauteng Gambling Board, that 4Q Racing’s Licence was issued unlawfully by someone who did not have the authority in terms of the Gauteng gambling act. I also hear that the Public Protector and the National Assembly are investigating the Gauteng gambling board on this issue. Can you enlighten us, as an independent platform whether the GGB or its CEO approved and issued the licence legally. Apparently, the CEO of the Gauteng gambling board received a letter earlier this week that gave him some sleepless nights.

Maybe others bloggers have seen or have a copy of the letter!

Not doubting this, but have tried and no one has heard anything.
