Re: DIVINE ACT
3 years 7 months agoThanks guys understand it won around 10 races.
Colour sensation
Divine Act 6/10 to evens
Colour 10/1 to 5/1
Divine lost 4 length at start and beat a head .
😎
Happy days .....
No Dave I remember this very differently because Divine Act was the 3rd leg of a treble I had on the day. My recollection is as follows:
Divine Act was 1/3 !in the race that took place at Newmarket on a Wednesday. I had been given 2 from the Johan van Eck stable and threw DA in as the absolute certainty he appeared to be. Greed cost me big as the first two arrived like soldiers. Divine Act played up loading and then broke through the stalls and ran about 300m. This is when he drifted to evens. The restart went smoothly and DA was travelling well with 300 to go but his earlier exploits took their toll and he was collared by Colour Sensation on the line. Colour Sensation had never come close to beating DA previously and was a 20/1 shot.

Dont worry Dave I struggle to remember what I had for breakfast. Due to the trauma suffered, I'm pretty sure of my story on this one.

Tell him bottle of JWB on the result. I'm pretty sure of my recollection as I was there and it was traumatic to my wallet.

KNIFE EDGE , that was the one 👍
Knife edge trained by brain wiid ran 17 races , 8 wins and 8 places. Lost his eye in the gates and was suspended for life.
We bought him , reschooled him in the gates and raced him in the bushveld, he was a beast of a machine . I rode him in work and rode him in my last ever race as amateur jockey in July 1995 when i was only 16 years old, weighing 64kg. Most powerful horse i ever ridden or worked with.

Top Sprinters are normally associated with blistering speed, like Tommy Hotspur, National Colour, Val Da Rae, etc. During Divine Act's time they had Senor Santa who should come from far back to win. Senor Santa beat Divine Act on couple of occassions. In Australia, they had a sprinter, Chautauqua, who should come from miles back to win. Will post the videos later of Chautauqua. Never seen any horse closing in like Chautauqua on the turf.
