I see Lunga had his first runner today at Fairview? Finished second or did he have a runner in Port Elizabeth already?

Naresh all the messages from the concerned trainers stopped when they found out who was handling the case

What a lovely start for Lunga's career. He won the last race at Fairview with Vihzoe's Magic. Long may it continue.

Intrigued to see how Lunga Gila goes in Western Cape.
Many large owners have sent him horses to train.
Dont quite understand the Justin Vermaak to Lunga Gila change of ownership.
Surely there were more deserving trainers around who also could use some support.

Probably want to promote Black participation in the sport!

Not at all Sly ... the strategy of Cape Racing has always been to boost horse population in WC as well as assist smaller trainers at sane time, so what they have done in essence is purchase and or move a whole lot of poor quality horses destined for retirement / relocation to other provinces and give them to smaller trainers with the deal being thar CR pays the costs of each box and all stakes go to CR ( bar the normal 7% trainers commission ) even though horses run in trainers private and syndicate colours.

Lunga Gila Western Cape experiment - A failure
Someone is making money out of this but it aint the trainer.
His horses are nowhere. most run last or second last.
Who ever set this up needs to review not good for racing.
Either find new ways to help the trainer or call it a day.
Many other smaller trainers could do with assistance.
one egg basket approach does not make sense
someone is making money out of this. who?

....at least he has more than one horse.....and is picking up the overflow from the bigger stables....scraps they are but if he can still get the owners to feed them.....then he is no loser...
