I don't think I have enough experience in the game....I have only been around punting, owning and working for about 17 years now, but what the RA boys have tried today I think is fantastic.
We have to all start thinking out of the box and working together to get this great game back to where it should be....

Phumelela on the other hand do nothing but sit atop their glass towers at Turffontein and Harrison street and count the money coming in. One would have thought that with them being a listed company who have responsibility to shareholders that they should be growing the game more than anybody else.

When last have they come up with a new bet variation or some education for the people who are new to the game or even better yet FRACTIONAL BETTING!!!

Good job RA, good job Mr H, keep up the good work!! You guys are doing good work!

well big guy the next time an RA member asks you to help - ask not what racing can do for you but what you can do for racing!!! To preserve the SPORT individuals need to put their own agendas aside(from all sides - detracors and supporters) or this game will be equated to a remote relative of the turkey - THE DODO!!!

mr Hawaii should you have a similar ACHIEVERS function in future, & if you are possibly looking for any type of sponsorship from me, I'm sorry I can't assist you with this...I work for a very small company.
Secondly I am no longer an R.A. member for reasons stated before on this site.

BUT, should there be a NEW owners association that covers the WHOLE COUNTRY, G.C. country included ( where Joburg members are welcome to Durban July day & the MET with open arms ) - then I would consider joining.

Elvis when a monetary contribution is all that is important to achieving a goal then racing is lost - you cannot buy experience, class, enthusiasm or passion - so if ever a racing person asks for that which does not affect the bank balace pls give 100% and though your bank manager might not be impressed you will look yourself in the eye saying you have helped horse and "master" to compete in one of the greatest sports ever conceived -

mr hawaii, you asked me am I " prepared to give something back to ensure the future of the sport " If it's not sponsorship, then what else do you have in mind ?

Well I am just home and not my choice, wanted to carry on having a party with the kids but Mrs S thought we had done enough?

The bottom line is that it was a HUGE day for the RA and the laddies and lassies kept thanking me for one of the best days they had ever had, two of the guys on the bus won a share in the horse, one being my son "objection".

So all I can say is thank you to Larry, Peter and Steve and all the effort from the RA for a brilliant day, I am sure when the kids wake up they will also say cheers for a MAGIC day.

I was at the function and thought it went really well. There was certainly an atmosphere that I have not felt at the track for some time.

The big wins for me were:

The horse giveaway - speaking to some of the winners afterwards these guys and girls are hooked already I can tell you. This in itself was a great initiative.

The tote facilities - I must admit I went in expecting long queues to get bets on but the opposite occured with plenty of tote machines and attendants.

The RA Girls and other fillies - I will have a stiff neck in the morning from constantly whipping my head up to watch another fine form walk by. On the downside I thought no 13 was a sure fire winner of the beauty contest but she never even ran a place!

Thanks for the tickets Mr H my guests were mostly first time racegoers and all are begging to return.
