P.E top Horses

PE has produced some top horses over the past few years, the likes of Vangelis, bold salvino, paris perfect and my all time favourite Hear the drums. I have never made more money on any other like i have on him, to me he is the greatest sprinter this country will ever see. What does the clan think.

Correct. Lovely horse, but three unsuccessful attempts in the Gr 1 Cape Flying Championship hardly makes him the greatest sprinter ever.

Talking of Zim Magic do you remember a horse called Cool Gambler, used to be ridden by Ivan Moore on most occasins, loved that horse and much later on Hachiman, he was lightning fast ?

I do remember Cool Gambler, LW, but I think Gary Waterston usually rode him? I'd left Zim by the time Hachiman came on the scene but I have heard of him. Cool Gambler cost about $500 as a yearling was trained in Bulawayo by Tommy Fleming, if I recall, and had the reputation of being a bone-idle worker who some mornings wouldn't even bother stepping onto the track.

He was a different beast altogether when it came to a race, though! Ah the good old days....when they could support two racecourses and race at least three times a month at Borrowdale. Mind you, it's a miracle it is still going, even if it ain't anything like what it used to be.
