Any reason why SA cant salvage a win or draw from this test?
We have the best batsmen in the world at the crease on 37 and have night watchman dale steyn (who has a habbit of playing very important innings now n then), still got 2 specialist batsmen in bavuma and jp to come.
Bavuma has shown glimpses of talent and jp has no introduction.
Btw if Faf does not get dropped soon im going to lose it

With so many batsmen out of form or past their best, SA struggling to get to 250 in any inning...if if you can't get to 300/350+regularly in test cricket, you have no chance of even drawing a game...
Really think that Amla, Faf, Duminy and Van Zyl should withdraw themselves from the squad and go back to their franchises...they seem solely interested in survival and even if they spend time at the crease, their score goes nowhere....they need to score and that is only likely by taking a step back (to francise cricket) to move forward...
We are in a batting crisis and sticking with the incumbents will not solve the problems nor is it helping he individuals...past glories do not justify current confidence but current failures will deeepen the future crisis...
I want us to go to Newlands still level in the series but England have outplayed us in all aspects of the game so far and should get their reward with 6 wickets today....unless some-one takes the fight to the English by scoring quick enough to get the runs required down sufficiently for them to push the field back...our lower order / tail will not survive if they are allowed to have lots of fielders around the bat but may just hang in if the field has been pushed back by early runs getting the required down...
Enjoy...
A safe, prosperous and healthy new year to all...

Ali and Finn have been outstanding in this inning as Broad was in the first. Let's hope that the selectors make changes otherwise the series will be all but over after Newlands
Well done to England as they completely outplayed us

@cnc...but Van Zyl, Elgar, Amla, Bavuma, Abbott, Piedt..half the team don't play IPL so cannot fathom the lack of vigour in the performances of late...

But at least they seem to be trying...
Herchelle Gibbs just mentioned that there seems to be a blase attitude to the underperformance of the batsmen when they played in franchise matches as warm up for test...and this underperformance of the team extends to Bangladesh series...yet, no visible anger or concern...
