all to do with the overhead conditions. Australia just unlucky that England won the toss. Having said that the England bowlers and catching have been excellent.

Australia seem to be making a habit of very very low scores...remember a Cape Town test not many years ago when they were knocked over for under 50...

the sun is coming out so that should make batting much easier for England. This match could be all over by Saturday evening making it yet another 3 day test match. Feel sorry for the counties hosting the matches as they lose plenty when the match finishes early.

Second highest partnership...
The three rulers of World Cricket wanted there to be five tests between themselves...no one could have predicted this outcome of 3 day tests...

60 all out. One of the best bowling displays I have seen for a long time. Broad 8/15

Were the conditions that helpful ?? Previous best by Broad was 7/44 and now 8/15 !! Or is just an Australian team that have too many players with reputations that precede their current form and ability ??

in the first 5 overs the conditions were out of this world for bowlers. Only 2 Aussies basically gave their wickets away, but the catching was unreal. Some fantastic catches taken by the slips. Wicketkeeper did not have one catch so that tells you how the ball was swinging around.

Saw that Stokes took a blinder at 5TH slip...when last was Cook so adventurous as to have 5 slips ?? So I guess the conditions forced his hand...and yes, it must have been swinging about a lot for catches to go wide rather than to the wicket-keeper...
