how easy are England making batting look. Australia will need a divine intervention to avoid defeat.

And with there being no divine, the intervention is not going to happen...

Saw all the dismissals again and almost every dismissal the batsmen was pushing at the ball rather than playing late, back in the crease with full body behind ball...

going to miss the morning session. England should now go on and score at the very least 450 with all that batting to come. Buttler is over due so should score at least a 50. Going to very interesting to see how the Aussies approach their 2nd innings as the weather will be fine. They cant win the match but a draw will see them having to take the last test to retain the Ashes. At the very least 3 Aussies batters will have to score big in order to save the test. England have been by far the better side and have improved so much that they can go to the UAE and beat Pakistan and then onto SA.

see Amla has made yet another ton. This bloke is pure class and hopefully he holds his form when England go there in December.

Class yes but inconsistency creeping in due to passage of time...into his thirties now and either the eyes or hands / feet or all slow down resulting in performance being a bit hit and miss...

Lucky that SA playing England in SA...would have struggled in English conditions...

He has achieved far more than was likely from a person emanating from a small KZN North Coast town called Tongaat...I remember him coming to the cricket nets as a 11/12 year old (I was 17/18 at the time and playing league cricket) with a bat that was about 2 inches narrower but re-weighted to maintain balance and control and he hit most balls off the middle...his Dad (Dr Amla) installed a cricket pitch and bowling machine in their back yard so that he (and his brother Ahmed) could get the practice required...was pulled out of Tongaat Secondary and enrolled at Glenwood Boys to further his cricketing ability / ambitions...a coach / teacher by the name of Devan Naidoo identified his talent very early and encouraged Hashim's parents to get him into Glenwood Boys...

Most people in Tongaat are proud of what he has achieved and it certainly helped that he had more access to resources than most others of greater natural talent...I can think of two others with greater natural talent but that is another long story for another day... :)
