Imagine if our captain had the initiative to open the bowling with a spinner

The rugby team and the cricket team have two completely different mindsets One is we will win the other is whatever you want it to be

Another disappointing end to another World Cup. Cricket is my favourite sport. Hopefully we get to lift a Cricket World Cup soon.

Anyway next year is the T20 International World Cup. Im confident we shall do well. Till then.

So not a lot of comments - suppose when your record is 5-0 in WC Semis, that says it all :(

Still it was (another) close exit - debate still going on about the toss - imo it would not really have mattered as the pitch was difficult from the start and arguably more difficult as it went on; have to give credit to Starc and Hazlewood who showed our quicks how to 'make them play' - a couple of catches and decisions that went against us, but no complaints really - I just would have wanted us to open the bowling with a spinner - that 60 run opening partnership in 6 overs really hurt the Proteas; well onwards - will have to go and watch in 2027 B)

I wad really disappointed. No ifs and buts,

But,

Coetzee should have reviewed his caught behind. It could have been an extra 20 to 30 runs and could have made a difference. We will never know.

@ Frodo. There is a T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA next year.

I highly doubt Bavuma will be selected. T20 is not Van Dussen game.

So you got

1. Hendricks
2. Q de Kock
3. Brevis
4. Markram
5. Klaasen
6. Miller
7. Jansen
8. Coetzee
9. Maharaj
10. Rabada
11. Nortje

Shamsi
Stubbs
Donovan Ferreira
Andile or another all rounder/ fast bowler.

Anyway Coetzee is going to a big IPL payday.

Yip there was plenty of could haves / would haves - IF Hendricks took that catch, IF de Kock just toughed it out a bit longer before going for that shot; IF Miller just lasted those last 18 balls, IF Coetzee reviewed, IF our captain opened the bowling with a spinner (did he not see the ball turning), IF Klaasen did not play around a seemingly innocuous ball - but as you say, we will never know

I do not really get excited about the T20 stuff - too much of a lottery imo

Commentator's curse re Kohli.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
