horse has moved back to charles laird...deservedly so..the horses that were taken from him and moved to other trainers have definately not set the tracks alight..kudos to Mr Laird who came in for a lot of criticism from all corners

It was Charles Laird's suggestion to send the horse to Bass for the Cape season.

Good sprinter, and probably only a sprinter, but was probably at his best as a 2yo. He is still very useful, but I'm not convinced he has any real big wins left in him. However, with Val De Ra seemingly retired and JJ in the twilight of his career, who knows??

Val De Ra is not injured, they have been thinking of retiring her. What more has she got to prove??? Why risk an injury by carrying on racing???

She still belongs to the breeder and 1 live foal is likely to yield more than 3 more years of sprint racing,I would guess!

Delago Delux is a cripple and to get him to the track and race

I watch him work in the mornings and believe me he is cripple!!!

It's ridiculous that a horse can be retired to go breeding before it finishes it's career as a racehorse, yes a racehorse not a foal factory. Owners, trainers, ect have a duty to the racing public to run their champs because they are the ones that create hype and drawcards for the sport.

brandhow they only create hype if there is media coverage ..... I have not seen a Racing Poster in at least two decades !! I have not seen results on Supersport, SABC sports or SAFM !! I have not seen or read a newspaper editorial on the July or J&B Met for years....

We have many threads but Zarkava, Sea the Stars etc, would love to have seen them race again however afraid the price at stud is far greater than the risk and potential to stay in training :(
