OH NO - Di Matteo
12 years 7 months ago
Abromovich a joke !
A club statement read: "Chelsea Football Club has parted company this morning with manager Roberto Di Matteo.
"The team's recent performances and results have not been good enough and the owner and the board felt that a change was necessary now to keep the club moving in the right direction as we head into a vitally important part of the season."
The statement continued: "The club faces a difficult task ahead in qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League as well as maintaining a strong challenge for the top of the Premier League while competing in three other cup competitions. Our aim is to remain as competitive as possible and challenge strongly on all fronts.
"The owner and the board would like to thank Roberto for all he has done for the club since taking over in March. Roberto helped guide us to an historic Champions League victory and a seventh FA Cup. We will never forget the huge contribution he has made to this club's history and he will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge.

How confused and funny is that, "Always welcome at the Bridge" ................ just not as manager.
Not a good thing for any club to keep chnging managers like underwear.
Thank goodness United have a different view............

For once, I think they are right. Not a manager for a mega-bucks club and though they won the Champions Lge (and yes, all credit for so doing) they are imho the luckiest team in memory to have done so. A few supposedly great performances this season only cast shadows over the cracks and recent form has come as no surprise to me. I wish him good luck as I don't believe he deserves to be treated in this way and I do think he is a probably a very decent person and will make a very decent manager at other places but, the money clubs are now more ruthless business than football and in those terms, I think it was somewhat inevitable that he had to go.

All expenses paid holiday in London, send cv's to russinathug@chelski.com
All seriousness, Pep has distanced himself from the job already (think he's waiting for City) and Rafa looks the favourite

Torres will be rubbing his hands at the prospect of Rafa joining....if Roman lets Rafa keep him, will be 4th time lucky (Ancelotti/AVB/Di Matteo/Rafa??) for Torres at Chelsea?!

If Rafa goes to Chelski then next season the rest will have to fight for minor places.
The guy won us the champios league with the likes of Djimi Traore,Igor Biscan,Cisse.
What will he do with a bit of cash from the Russian?
