BOOKIES PRICING ERROR

Yesterday ,i backed a double...1st race cape town..TESTING THE WIND and 1st race Plumpton SIR FREDLOT WHICH MARSHALLS HAD AT THE TIME @ 8.6/1...
1/2 hour later after the first race has been run...they say to all of us in the branch that all bets struck are null and void...because SIR F. SHOULD HAVE BEEN..0.33 for a win and not 8.6/1.....they cancelled all bets on the system...is that right?
or should they have paid out on the bet...according to marshalls it was a dissemination problem and the wrong prices were down loaded onto the system....what are the rules regarding this?

but why did they void the bet and not just ammend the prices? you should get paid with a deduction..

If they issued you a ticket they have to pay the bet otherwise you take them yo gambling board

Surely they should amend the price and pay the bet at S/P...but to call the bet off is surely wrong?? The question here is if you backed the horse they had at 4/10 which in fact was 12/1 would they have called off your bet???

hibs we all accept human errors..and off course someone has to pay for the error...point is why does the punter have to pay...why shouldn't the association that downloaded the data or the bookie who laid the bet pay for the error...why do we have to pay for their error....in any business...the person who commits the error pays the consequences...not the person who didnt have anything to do with the error

if i went to pick n pay and bought a loaf of bread that was supposed to be R9.00 AND THEY HAD IT PRICED AT R2.00....if i got to the till and they suspected that the price was wrong...then i would have to pay the right price or leave the product behind...but they have no right chasing after me when i am in the car park to come tell me that the price was wrong....after i leave the shop...they got to deal with it internally...its not my problem

This booking pricing error also find its way into sports betting. Punters when taking multiples look at the price of the Teams and look at Teams that are odds on. Sometimes the Teams are priced the other way around. The Team that should be odds on are the Team that are at the bigger odds. What happens to the punter that choose the Team which he was believing was odds on and thought had a better of winning but in fact he was mislead due to the incorrect pricing of Teams. Does he get a refund or if the Team wins get paid at the bigger price or does the bookmaker remains quiet about the whole affair.

You suppose to get paid at the correct amended Price of the runner. Hollywood during an in running game laid me the incorrect price which involved Chelsea and Liverpool. They paid me out at the amended price, I got a refund on my draw bet as my win bet was interlinked with the draw and a R2000 voucher (tu)

actually u are right BATMAN..NOT LAY someone R20 grand...but the other 3 horses were....7/2,10/1,and 16/1...so i decided i would spend 5 grand on the other 3..to win 10 grand each...and be a winner of 5 grand if my horse got beat....look i am not denying that i was ignorant that they ,priced up wrong...but mt attitude towards bookies is that there are no moral grounds....sorry hibs...but its just the way...with them its a business transaction..and in business..u have to be ruthless sometimes...i wouldn't middle my friends..but then again bookies are not my friends
