I wonder if the reboot will be as good as the 1957 original?

There is commission to the sales comp and the vendor. Works out at around 13%. Plus if you buy back, you miss out on the potential income from the sale. For instance, if I buy back a horse for 100K, I pay R13K comission + R7K entry for the race. Costs me R20K to keep my horse, plus the costs of the first two years of its life. If I let someone else buy it on the sale I would have had a R100k in the bank. So it's not cheap to buy back.

I think this sale will have more smoke and mirrors than a David Copperfield show.
Most of the horses are prepared by MJ's trainers?! Smells like BS to me.
I am not helping funding Jooste winning his own race - will try my luck at the TBA sale - always feels like I have a chance of not getting fleeced there,..

And what race for 2 million can you win off the TBA sale......rather then gamble of the CYS1 or 2 to win USD1 million.MJ cannot buy every horse on the sale...select properly and you have a chance.....Arion was R200K.....not a bad buy?

You got a fair sort there as the dam although from a top family only won on debut as a 2yr in a 800m dash with the Egyptian Greek up.....I think James Maree trained her (Lucky would know) and she went horribly wrong after an injury....I was told that she would make a top brood mare and have followed and made money off the projeny....if you cant fluke the race you are bound to get a place and your investment returned very shortly....

The ped will definitely get ground.....especially in CT where they can really crawl....but jokes aside....this is a smart sort and bound to be more competitive over ground and improve with age....(tu)

And people still believe that racing is controlled by Phumelela.....
Racing is controlled COMPLETELY by a VERY small group of people, kinda like the Illuminati but not nearly as bright.
