I am going to do a survey.

In an effort to try and pass on and get some things done that punters really want, please inbox me with the 3 most important issues that affect you and you would like see changed in racing. On Sunday I will put it all together, take the top 10 points and give it to GC at our breakfast on Monday. I will then follow up with then and keep in touch with posters as to the reply I get. I hope this helps and we get some issues at least sorted out.

Craig,if the overseas operators picked up on the leverage to counter the unbalanced bookmaker competition, ,how come our lot haven't realised the power of the local broadcast product to negotiate the open bet problem..................it was suggested on this forum years ago!

It's amazing someone can say that without a beer in their hand. You are confusing nirvana with reality. I am a punter, the source of the money you race to win, and you are telling me how and where to spend it? The hundreds of millions you race for came from people who had to lose it to you. The take out here is insane. You use HK as a model, but 10% of every 10K lost is refunded to punters.
Nowhere did God decree that odds in the public domain are copyright. God did say that racing may assist in paying for itself with a monopoly tote. That monopoly is over too, i understand that the time for the existence of only one tote expired, same as casino licences are only held for a single casino for a period of time. To be honest, tote betting is fraud because they can never lose.
The more you feel entitled to my money, the less I care to give it to you. You think there should be a law that says I must give it to you, I think you should ask nicely. I'm withdrawing my tote money, gonna go play with the people who ask nicely.

Hi Craig, thank you
Looking at a cross section of posts here ( probably where Garrick has made a comment ) gives you a good idea where the frustrations are but from my side it basically boils down to communication breakdown
Most things that the operators do would appear to be secret ?
All the punters want is feedback or press releases on various subjects from tote payouts, Tellytrack broadcast, Future plans for racing, etc, etc
To reduce speculation and drama on the site
If we can use a bookmaker/tote example considering customer service, look at Hollywood, if a punter posts a problem they attend to it immediately
Alternatively if a tote query is highlighted it is basically ignored ( in saying that Vee is always quick to react ) but the mystery of tote dividends never appear to reach a final conclusion?
I have yet to find anyone that admits to enjoying Sweden or Ngong and a survey was carried out by Tellytrack and we had a winner? I might have missed it but I would have expected a thank you for my inputs and a comprehensive press release on what the punters requested and what action was taken to improve the service?
It's only my opinion but I feel the feedback was used to cherry pick on what the Tellytrack management team wanted to hear and action was taken to suit themselves rather than what the customer wanted?
However thanks again for your efforts to improve the sport we all love

hibs is right, in 86 we formed the South African Racegoers Association and fought for meaningful changes in racing, we got on radio 702 got plenty of press coverage then on SABC's news program Network, met with deputy MEC and his advisor etc etc and what did the JC do ? instructed race course security to fight us to get rid of us any way they can,, im still being punished for it today

PGE need to change their thinking with regards to this.
Instead of crying foul about a case that they have lost in a court of law,the thinking needs to change to how do we get 'our' customers back from the bookmakers who offer the open bet.
If you are on vitality, have a Woolies card or go to the casino you get a card that reflects your turnover, and then you get REBATES based on the tier that you fit into.
Rebates are,as stated previously, common practise in most racing jurisdictions.PGE ARE OFFERING REBATES TO INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS.Why do locals not qualify for this too?
Simply offer locals rebates(in the same way other companies do) and you will see how quickly tote accounts get re-opened.People will get back according to what they spend, just like all other businesses do these days.
Unfortunately,PGE want to try and pretend like this is not happening in our industry, and they think that the customer will just be prepared to suck it up.

all i can say is the operators lost the battle with the open bet in a court of law and once again the punter who supports and funds horseracing with his/her addiction, loses out by not getting the betting from bookies being scrolled on tt,now punter who funds horseracing and all the people who gets paid from the game like presenters, staff executives etc etc,and now the punter is expected to fork out more money for a decoder to support his hobby/adiction.the bottom line is the punter always seems to be getting the short end of the stick.
when will the people in charge realise that it is the punters funding the game by betting into the tote pools and they should be looked after and not used in this way in the battle between operators and bookies.
