Re: Kenilworth, 23/07
2 years 10 months ago - 2 years 10 months agoFrom a breeding perspective Race 3. This is what I look at. The bigger the price the better. Even if they run off the board, I know next time when I see them run their breeding history. Thats how I try to build my knowledge. Learning about crosses, got a long way to go.
1. Related to Felix The Cat, ML Jet
3. Related to Lamborghreeni
4. Family of Russian Sage
5. Dam is a Grade 1 winner. PeterD owned the broodmare at one stage.
7. Granddam is the dam of Soft Falling Rain
8. Same family has Swazi Queen, Lesedi La Rona, Bartholdi, Bright Green etc.
almost every horse running in world racing is related to a champion somewhere so where do you draw the line?

If you keep going back the third, fourth dam then that may apply. The ones that I look at is from my memory or from racing publications I read. I do not go looking in detail for the pedigree of every runner unless something catches my eye to look further. Everyone has a different way of finding lurkers and this is my way especially in maidens. When these horses are put in their correct distances after the maiden win can also be vital. Also sometimes horses that are perceived to need distance on pedigree but after failing and reverting to a shorter distances have won at nice prices.

@Naresh, the proof is in the pudding.
If your strategy works for you, then well done. No need to change a winning formula.

.....yes always stick to a formula that works.....whether it be lucky numbers, fav jock, fav trainer, lucky colours, whether it shits at the pens....as long as it works and keeps you from the poor house....
